Best Day Hikes in Glencoe, Scotland: Lost Valley & Ballachulish
Glencoe is a glen in the Scottish Highlands, famous for its deep valleys and towering snowcapped mountains. While we were there, we embarked on two incredibly scenic day hikes: the popular Lost Valley hike and a lesser-known route near the village of Ballachulish.

That’s sad. Why did your family have to leave?
We had a choice of two routes driving to Inverness. After driving through glencoe,I know that there’s only one route now. This is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been
Incredible
It’s kind of beautiful that this comment section is filled with so many different languages. People all around the world are able to enjoy the same music, type wholesome comments, and have their days improved while lifting up others too
Liked and saved this I'm heading there this may and my brother lives here I've seen it from afar but not been right there so this video was so good to watch
Thanks for posting. Planning another trip to Scotland and this really helped. Best regards
My wife and I drove through Glencoe on our way to Inverness and it's one of the prettiest places I've seen.

It is :) I'm lucky enough to live about 2 hours from Glencoe and go there a lot for hiking, camping or skiing. It is a truly beautiful place and if hiking is your thing, you are spoilt for choice. Anything from a well worn path all the way to over 3000', and you start almost at sea level, or the hardest ridge walk in Britain, the Aonach Eagach. I'd seriously recommend checking out some KZread footage of it, it's absolutely stunning and the views down into the glen are breathtaking.

@@JamesBTravel Yes James, I was lucky to have known a member of the Rannoch climbing Club, who knew the area very well.. We drove up there after work on a Friday night from Aylesbury Bucks!! Arrived in Glen Coe about 2 am camped until 6 or 7 am then headed off. Couldn't do it now!! You don't really appreciate the scale until you are walking it do you?

Great video, man. Great work
Amazing video, congrts
Amazing video footage, really enjoyed your blog, I've just got the Mavic 2 Pro and hope to capture some of these magnificent views, we love the Highlands, Glencoe’s one of our favourites, we did the first part of the Lost Valley, but didn't have time to go the full way, so its a must for us to go back and make the time. We have toured around Scotland on several occasions, we jus keep wanting to come back and explore more of this beautiful part of the country, with amazing landscapes, very nice and welcoming people, great food and the unpredictable weather makes the country looks quite mysterious or mystical. Can’t wait to go back, we're off to the Cairngorms later this year, just hope everything is settled and we are able to do our next Scottish Highlands adventure.
Thank you for posting that James, very nice video. Glencoe is my favourite place on the planet. You transported me back, under lockdown.

What dish were you eating in the Clachaig Inn? It looks like it might be veggie/vegan? My wife is vegan, and I'm looking for a restaurant where she'll have more interesting options than 'salad' :) for when we visit in October. Thanks for the great video; we're thinking of doing both these hikes!

It’s veggie haggis, neeps and tatties (turnip and potato). It was definitely veggie, can’t remember if it was vegan. They should have decent vegan options though, most places in Scotland do now, apart from the most remote places.

How far is Glencoe and the Lost Valley?
Hi! I'm planning on going to Glencoe recently without a car too! I'm curiously how did you manage to arrive at the start points of the hikes without a car? I can't seem to find a footpath that can lead me there... Thanks!

Hi Kelvin. Both hikes we did were accessible by foot from where we stayed (Clachaig Inn), but we had to get a taxi there from Fort William. Getting a taxi from Fort William was easy, but I’d advise pre-booking the return journey as there were less taxis available on the way back. There’s also a 30 minute bus between Fort William and Glencoe. Hope you have a great trip!
