I am from London, England and I truly want to leave this country. I want to move elsewhere in Europe, to the countryside, not any cities where you're more likely to find a mixed population, but it truly is more of a struggle when you're black because racism exists. I don't want to make such huge commitments only to have to deal with racism from locals constantly and that does happen. I'll keep looking.

Unfortunately we cannot completely escape racism or sexism, we can only seek to mitigate the impact. Lots of Brits have fled the UK post brexit for Portugal. Of all the EU member states, it's one of the most promising , plus cost of living is one of the cheapest and +300 days of sunshine a year. After South Africa, its next on my list.

@@nymike06 Nope. Not really, to me, race is not an issue. White, Black, Blue, Yellow people are all welcome to México. I was just saying that my neighbours had always been non-blacks from USA. Even centroamericans are also welcome, even so migration has become an issue in Mexico; the transit of so many people across the México is causing some problems. Cheer up!

There's nothing wrong with being a black nanny. If its not for you then its not for you, but that's it. There's no shame in it. Don't stack your own trauma and conditioning on it. In fact lets stop bonding over victimization all together, and just heal with out fetishizing the negative aspects of the black experience.

sorry i don't know why youtube doesn't show me responses to my comments in a timely manner or at all. I can't remember who was expressing shame about being a black nanny now, but I have the same opinion as a month ago about it. No shade, and I appreciate you a lot, but that's what I have to say about that... to whomever might feel as such.

There is a historical context to that employment that most bw appreciate and understand. If you enjoy "the help," good for you but respect the larger view and spare us your lectures.
