    Hey Vince! I've always tried reading my manuals from front to back, but I always get stumped when I get through the English and Spanish. I seem to struggle to get through the French. You think I'll be ok 👌 🙂. Haha. Love your videos and your positive influence on my addiction to buying Milwaukee tools.

    Great sander! I own one , the dust collection box did not work well for me out the box, the sander produces enuff air to create pressure to pop the lid , first day I used it. I do use the vac attachment and miter saw bag now as dust collection. I wish Milwaukee could fix the issue. The sander it self is great!

    I have that sander Vince. I agree that it works very nice. I was waiting for the new Dewalt 20v XR to be released, because I was wanting the brushless motor, but it was taking to long, so I purchased the Milwaukee to get the job done, and it did better than I though, I was actually impressed with the runtime and power for a brushed motor. Its definitely a good sander!!

    That sanding pad not sticking to well to the sander concerns me a bit... only because when I was younger I had a corded orbital sander, and when I lifted the tool away from the work piece, the sander spun really fast and threw the sanding pad off. Unfortunately for me, it flew across my wrist and sliced me good. I still have the scar to remind me. Since then I've opted for vibrational sanders...lol but this sander has me wandering if I should buy it or not?

    Vince, long read, but hear me out. My DeWalt cordless stuff is for the truck / jobsite. Cordless probably won't be replacing my heavy duty Bosch, so I wouldn't buy the DeWalt cordless sander. For home projects, I have 3 Makita 3.0 batteries and Milwaukee I have 1 9.0 and 1 3.0. Would you rate the Milwaukee unit over the Makita for home, not jobsite woodworking projects? Right now the Makita is only $79 at Acme.

    I own both Milwaukee and DeWalt tools. I just bought this exact Milwaukee sander 4 days ago. 1-13-21. I was so disappointed in the circular power of this tool, I went to the store and bought a Dewalt with the identical battery size. Side by side, the Milwaukee is embarrassing. The Dewalt had at least twice the spin power. The Milwaukee could be stalled with very little pressure....It's trash.

    My First Sander for personal use was corded Ryobi. After few minutes of use I couldn't hold it in my hand, due to vibration transferred to my hand and wrist instead of surface that I was working on. When I got myself that Milwaukee sander I was amazed from the first minute of use. 5 Ah battery last more than half an hour, dust collection better than I've ever seen (at work I was using better brands than Ryobi, except I didn't own them). using mine with makita paper, you can swap sheets and put them back on if still usable, they stay attached. Overall one of the best sanders on the market, you can definitely get professional results with it. Wow, that was a long comment 🙂

  • @renaissancemen1
    @renaissancemen15 жыл бұрын

    I’m surprised you let the location of that dust collection box go. Very low to the work surface. Especially doing recessed panels or doors. Hitting the stiles with that box could cause a ding and more sanding. Especially on softer wood like pine. But, what do I know. Oh!!! Choooo Chooooo always DeWINNING!!!

  • @vmcarpenter7889

    @vmcarpenter7889

    Renaissance man you are totally right that was the first thing that I saw, is the location of that dust location box way to low. They should have made it like my Makitas 18v orbital sander it goes up so it's not in the way of your work surfaces. It also looks like you will have trouble getting in tight spaces.

    This is what i mean about being worried about being blind. If you look on the internet there is complaints of other well known youtube channels that point things out like that ren. It is a good concern considering how much they ask for these tools.And is why if i am gonna consider wasting my money as of right now it would either be for a dewalt or makita. Oh i know some of their stuff have issues too. But i go for what is best for the money and red china ain't always best.

    There is also the fact of committing to a battery system. You can forego brand loyalty with corded but once you have a battery system that's usually what you need to stick with. So if you have the m18 system and that's an issue there's always corded, or the good old block when 120 isn't available.

    AVOID! I got this sander around half a year ago. When it failed (I use it for maybe an hour a day, so after around 100 hours or 150 max) I sent it for a warranty repair. The service said that the chuck needs failing and I have to pay for it around £55, which is over half or the original price of the tool. And that means to keep it working I have to spend over £100 every year, over and over again. That's how they make money on us! AVOID!

    Yep. I just bought both brand new. The Mliwaukee has almost no spin power and stalls easily. The Dewalt is far superior. See my above post.

    @@VCGConstruction I've run every type of corded sander you can imagine, the absolute worste being porter cable drywall/pole sanders, vacuum or not YUCK!! As far as wood goes, I learned on an old school Makita belt sander and have mastered the art! As far as palm sanders..... let's just say I've had terrible luck and it's not because the brushed motors couldn't handle the dust (hint: they could not!). This M18 orbital could be promising depending on run time and ability to hold the paper so it doesn't bind and kick. That dust collector isn't exactly a placebo but if your sanding indoors you should reconsider your approach.

    fatbuddycat you don’t like the porter cable pole sander??? I bought a well used one at auction for $32. Thing worked great. Got me so hooked on drywall sanders I ponied up and bought the Festool. How do you like the Festool Rotex sanders??? Now other companies have copied that design at a more affordable price point (Makita and Bosch). These battery jobs are a convenience more then a replacement of a corded sander tho. Good Talk.

    @@renaissancemen1 the porter cables I used were definitely towards the end of their lives and it was about 8 years ago so I'm sure they have improved some. Also not a fan of drywall sanding in general, lol probably 75% of the reason I didn't like the tool! Your right, in my experience a sander should be wired. On small jobs a cordless might be okay (like fixing 1 door or a drywall patch job).

    Hey guys I’m trying to decide between this and the Dewalt xr cordless orbital. I watched both videos but still can’t decide. The Milwaukee seems much larger/heavier. What did you prefer aside from Milwaukee’s better dust receptacle attachment. Thanks a lot 🤘🏽
