Finally got my tree branches cut using my new saw kzread.infoUgkx84IcU5pbZd1Qrz8u4-YRLmJax7kdRi7B , and it was effortless. Then tackled taking pallets apart by just cutting through the nails. Zip Zip, like butter, took no time at all! Absolutely love that you just push a button to change the blade, so quick and easy. I chose cordless because of all the outside projects I need to do, and most are too far to extend an extension cord to. Incredibly lightweight, and easy to handle. I will be using this all the time. There is a reason they call them Sawzalls , because they literally saw all the things you need cut. Once you buy one you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner ~ Just make sure and buy the right blades for the job you want to tackle. The blades are not expensive, and there are lots of various multi-packs available.

I’m in the middle of my work day and my 16 year old 13 amp Milwaukee just stopped working, I think it’s the trigger. I gotta go replace it with something. I’ll go with the 15 amp version and get this one repaired. That saw has spent to many hours with me building my career to toss it aside.

Metabo HPT (Hitachi) have been making killer recip saws for years! I have some old Hitachi models that look like Star Wars weapons and cut like them too! Lol Awesome saws!

Thanks for the video content! Apologies for butting in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you researched - Schallingora Dexterous Programme Scheme (just google it)? It is a good one off product for building any shed in no time with no experience without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my BF at very last got excellent success with it.

Yes..i agreed..in 2021/11 i just buy hikoki/metabo 36v multivolt reciprocating saw..faster cutting in wood , steel & pruning 12inch big tree

Thanks for the review! I just purchased a Ridgid 18v one handed reciprocating saw & have been sorely disappointed in it's battery life. Of all the research I didn't see what run time they had so thought it was a good choice, boy was I wrong. The 4AH only lasted 30 minutes & the 2AH only lasted 20 min's.... given the lack of time to complete weekend projects, waiting 1 1/2 hours to charge the 4AH is a real pain. I plan on returning it and buying a corded model, most likely the 15 amp Skilsaw. It'll be a lot heavier but I'll know it'll take care of any job that I throw at it. I should had just bought a corded saw since my main use will be cutting firewood with a 12" blade.

GREAT REVIEW! I’m truly torn between the 11amp Metabo and 13am Skilsaw. The Skilsaw’s buzzkill tech feels great in my hands, but i wish you could adjust the shoe to help preserve the blade. Metabo has a ton of features, but the vibration is noticeable in both my hands, and on the blade. I do light demo for house projects, and prefer a saw that can make a precise cut. Which would you pick between the two?

IMO, battery powered tools are superior only if portability is an absolute requirement or dragging a cord is inconvenient (eg beyond the reach of a 100' 12/3 extension cord). Batteries are expensive, heavy, and need to be replaced every couple of years, and generally perform poorer, especially in extreme temps. If portability is a sometimes need, get a 2000 watt gas generator which you can double for emergency purposes or camping. Maybe the only exception is a hedge trimmer where I've sliced my extension cord 3 times... but now I use a short 6' leader extension cord and repair or sacrifice.

I have my mag77 worm drive , left blade sidewinder southpaw and just bought the 15amp sawzall and I love them

These videos are great to help with buying decisions My only concern is a lot of people are swayed by longevity and reliability so if one cuts two seconds faster or three seconds faster and has a feature like an adjustable shoe - big deal - that doesn’t really mean much if the thing falls apart after two years, and the other brand is going strong after five years………. Thats the one we want… It’s almost impossible to test for that in these videos, which is a shame

I used to think Milwaukee was the only way to go for a Sawzall. But i tried the Skilsaw today knowing damn well they don't mess around when it comes to their power saws. Same thing, relentless power and motor is inherent into a Sawzall package. Skilsaw remains on top..

I like the NON-pivoting foot of the Dewalt. Sometimes your blade gets dull at the teeth closest to the foot. With the Dewalt you can pivot and use teeth more towards the tip of the blade and still be able to maneuver the saw.

I'm not a big porter cable fan but I have had my tiger saw for years now and to me it is the most aggressive and best recip saw I have ever used. You didn't even include it in your test. Why is that?

How much of an upgrade is the Makita jr3051t

I am trying to find a saw that will cut 1 3/8" chain link fence top rail neatly. I was going with the Bosch until I saw this video, now I am not sure which way to go.

Just curious if u think the speeds of cutting were faster for the heavier saws. Maybe instead of a 5lb weight, give them all their respective weights individually to creat one common # so all the saws weigh exactly the same. Curious if that would change anything drastically or not. Seemed like the skillsaw was faster but I noticed it was the heaviest so wondering if there’s any conciliation. Great video by the way, went above and beyond what I was looking for in terms of comparisons and actually shocked because I thought dewalt or Milwaukee would’ve been #1 just being that’s what I see the most

A 12 amp brand A saw shouldn't perform much differently from a 12 amp brand B saw. Volts times amps equals watts. 746 watts is one horsepower. Something's not right here.

Brand A might be a budget brand with premium parts trying to get a foothold in the market place. Where as brand B might be the same amp rating, but uses old school tech, and chinese parts to hit a price point. There are many factors to consider, so that is why these tool comparisons exist. Some tool brands offer lifetime warranties, 3 year, 5 year, or even 100 year warranties on tools. The tools some companies sell have marketing wank on the box that can't be trusted. Where independent testing yields different results than what the tool claims it's performance should be. Comparisons like this show us what the real world performance actually is. This way we can make an informed decision without finding out the hard way. Which is disappointing in most cases.

One very important issue you couldn't test is how long they last. You might have gotten this info from repair shops and it might have totally changed the results.

@Topmost Pop I would like to say it is as thats the tools I have but I really don't know.

I'm surprised that Ryobi did as well as it did, I picked up one on sale for $9.99. I might never use it, but I couldn't pass it up at that price. I retired my Milwaukee and Porter Cable corded sawzalls years ago for battery models.

Cordless never beats corded

And another thing to keep in mind.... Is the added weight of the saw. Yes there is a weight, but the bigger ones will cut faster because they have added down force.

Older vid but thanks PTR. Yesterday I pretty much trashed my mildly used, nice for me Milwaukee 6521-21, 0-3200 speed orbital. methinks 11amp. Doopid me got too close to earth horizontally and sucked in say 8 to 10 small pea gravel pebbles. Power loss and sparks a flying off the armature area under heavy demand before I noticed. After I shook out the pebbles it still sparks very badly. The contact areas prolly look like a lunar surface. I'm just wandering video comments for any horror stories of the Mil. 6538-21 and Makita 3070. ha, I have my father's 1960s Skilsaw. I didn't even know Skilsaw was still in biz.

The design feature I'm not liking of the Makita 3070 vs Mil's 6538 is the distance from bottom of handle to the cutting line of the blade. But I do like the two finger trigger idea. I'm liking the saw's body more centered with the handle. Well, more like a kitchen knife ay? Trying to decipher reviews? Forget about it. If ya poke around for the Mil' 6538 at various outlets one gets the near all same review verbiage, verbatim. Pretty much the 1 star saying it's junc. Dayum, the payed reviewers are out in force. ~~ Oddity years back ~~ I had to drop amazoion prime due to my account was hacked..twice/thrice I forget so long ago..they ended up blamming me after reassurances tis ok. Oddity is after hacked, and did have One Click activated, all they did was put up reviews using my name..all positive some things I never bought. How goofy indeed. But I avoid the amazonions like P-ivy. It near seems like they re-sell returns from all the trouble in questions/reviews if true....as say "how heavy is that 5 pound weight you're using PTR"? No wonder we gots crap gas cans. (-:

Wow dude. I just saw a 12 year old vid of the Makita 3070 same model number, bought used from a pawn guy...at least a year used looking tool? ~ The model has been around for awhile. Is Makita resting on past laurels giving up, or spitting them out hand/fist due to a good tool? ...raise in cost vs skimping on chit?

Not surprised Skilsaw was the best. A company known for a century on building great saws.

my 12 Amp Makita (usually a good brand) broke. The piston inside the saw warped and broke. Never seen anything like it. Bought a new one and tried to fix it, same thing happened... :(

Nice to see kobalt get some recognition. People don't give kobalt a chance because they are fairly new compared to dewalt and makita. Not time tested.

KOBALT is a very good product.

I replaced my corded hand held power tools almost 3 years ago to battery power and have no regrets. No more tripping over and fighting with cords. The added cost was worth every penny. IMO, asking who makes the best corded recip saw is like asking who makes the best VCR. Good review though. lt did make me wonder if Skilsaw is coming out with a battery powered recip saw to compliment their 48V circular saw.

I felt that way, too but I found I had to pull out my corded to cut up some cottonwood tree roots that got out of hand and lifted my concrete patio. I couldn't use a chainsaw because of the dirt. And, an axe was out of the question because it was too close to water lines. Battery saw couldn't handle the job...corded...found a place in my tool chest once again.

Long after they discontinue batteries for your cordless model and your batteries eventually go to crap, these corded model tools will still be chugging along. My rule of thumb is if it absolutely has to be cordless, buy cordless. That's very rare and doesn't happen a lot. Only a select few tools are worth a cordless version. For example, everybody has a cordless drill. There are plenty of places a cordless drill comes in handy and it isn't bulky. I think most people would be fine with a corded reciprocating saw.

...think it's more akin to physical media (bulkier, but always there & ready when needed) vs streaming (at the mercy of an owner {battery replacements} & not always reliable performance {charge}). Also, every battery-powered tool I've seen more than 5yrs old became a paperweight, yet all the corded power tools my dad left me still work after 30+yrs. Seems wasteful.

I’ll stick with my free Makita that a workman left at my house over 10 years ago that still does the job for now.

This test is all well and good but it’s not the saw itself that does the job it’s the blade that you are using that makes a big difference.

They used the same brand in all of the saws.

Ryobi is good for home and mild use, Makita is good for commercial and heavy use.

Milwaukee tiger saw is the best by far.. I've used all the others.

Looks like I'm swayed by the 11 amp Makita. Ergonomics and size matter more than raw speed.

The idea of putting a 5lb weight is a good one but you aren't controlling where it goes by putting it on the body and not even putting it in the same spots, attaching it to the shoe would be a much more consistent way to test

Iv had 2 in the past 5 years great saw but mine just didn't last I'm watching this video to find a better one mostly cut cast iron pipe and wood that pipe can be a hard workout

Понятия о режимах резки нет, от слова Совсем. Скорость не главный показатель, главный стойкость полотен, т.к. это напрямую влияет на стоимость работы. Искры валят,полотна горят автор радуется глядя на секундомер, как быстро смог убить полотно.

If it takes more than 2 minutes to cut through a 4x4 don’t buy it that’s my motto bc any more time than that your losing your money on it
