Best Car Jump Starter? NOCO GB70 vs Antigravity, Schumacher, Gooloo, Tacklife. Let's find out!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Episode 2 best car jump starter testing 9 different jump starters: NOCO GB70, Gooloo 4000A, Gooloo 2000A, Schumacher DSR Proseries 2000A, Tacklife, Imazing, Autowit, and Antigravity. All of the jump starters tested were requested by viewers after the round 1 video. Jump starters bench tested for peak cranking amps. Then jump starters used on pickup truck with a V6 engine with a drained battery. Jump starters used to jump start a 4.2-liter diesel tractor with jump starters at ambient as well as after jump starters were placed inside of a freezer set to 0F or -18C. Finally, all of the jump starters were tested for total watt hour capacity when used as a power bank. To ensure an unbiased and fair review, I don’t accept sponsorships or free items. I always purchase all of the products I test along with the supplies used for testing. So, thanks for the generous Patreon support: / projectfarm

Request, sorry if I missed it in a video, can you do a cold comparison? Where I live it routinely gets to be -30F at night so cold starts are crazy. The lithium packs definitely have a harder time in the cold. Ultimate test would be cold engine and cold battery pack, but understandably it might be hard to get a super cold engine. Sometimes on long outings I can't take the jump pack with me to keep it warm, so I have to leave it in the car. So far my battery has been doing well in the cold, but having one of these as backup would be a great stress relief.

Chances are extremely high that the dislikes come from people who discovered that what they wanted to be real, was in fact not real. They may have seen their favorite brand not support claims made by the manufacturer. Another possibility, they are from people who do not want new information to enter their brain. Sadly, those sorts of people are everywhere. lol

I owe that Viking. It’s been reliable for me, but it’s fussy when hooking it up. I have to hook the clamps on to the battery before plugging into the booster if order for the light to turn green. I don’t know what that is about. It started my Farmall 756 gas on the second try.

Too bad their products don't last - mine died within a year after only one use - just avoid it & buy the NOCO - I know it seems expensive but it lasts longer than a few months and one use. A lot of mechanics I know have NOCO and use them every day. I was hugely skeptical given it's a lot more $$$ and bought a Gooloo instead - a total waste of money. I think the difference is the quality of the charge regulation, the Gooloo just overcharges itself and dies.

Uggh my dad bought one a few months after last years video. I wish I could have told him to return it.
Very thorough reviews. Great job! One additional thing that I would love for you to test is to fully charge all of them and put them away for 1-3 months, then see how they work without topping off. This would simulate a very important use case for those who throw them in the trunk and expect them to work at an unexpected time. Some models (like the early Tacklife models) have a mechanical on-off switch that physically disconnects the batteries during storage. In theory, this might reduce the rate of discharge vs. an electronic pushbutton (which always bleeds off a little juice even when turned off). All batteries have some level of self-discharge, so it's a question of whether the physical on-off button makes a significant difference, or is it negligible.

I do the 3 month thing with my Shumacher Lithium Ion pack now. Have for 3-4 years. 3 months is no issue for a good unit. 6 months really either, stored in my trunk or floorboard. Start your rig/car/truck and and as soon as you are up and running you just recharge your battery pack for next time. I doubt 3-6 months storage for the GooLoo will be any harder than on my current 4 yr old Shumacher. Probably easier with new technology. I paid $80 for my Shumaker, 4 years ago, so about same price re: current vs old dollars. Gotta trust Project Farm. Better testing than I could ever do.

While the Gooloo is better Chinese manufacturing since it can meet performance metrics, there is the question of longevity and durability.
Each of your videos is informative and helpful. The fact that you consistently re-test different devices as the market changes with them is brilliant. I worried if you could keep the channel going at a certain point but the recent wiper video and this one have really cemented the fact that you've got so much content you can make. I've been subbed to your patreon for a few months now and will continue to do so. Thank you for doing what you're doing. Helping people save money in these times is especially important.

I bought a NOCO GB40 after watching several videos on YT a couple of years ago. They've been in business since 1914. It hasn't failed to start our vehicles within 3-4 seconds. One of the best things about these jump starters is you don't have to jockey a second vehicle within battery cable distance to start your vehicle. If I ever need to start a vehicle without a battery, it will do it. Great video. Solid gold info. Thanks, Todd!

I accidentally left one of my wife's car doors cracked open last week and she was late to work. I made it up to her by buying her a Gooloo 2000 at your recommendation. She had further battery issues and we had to use it twice before I got a chance to buy her a replacement battery. The Gooloo started the car as quickly as a new battery would while being way easier than jumper cables. Very impressive! Thank you!

You do EXCELLENT work with your truly unbiased “Real World” testing methods. I never miss an episode. I’m always impressed with your mannerisms and by the way you get to the real world FACTS fast without all the boring, unnecessary info that most other Channels of this type seem to do. Also, I really like the bar graphs that you supply, they are very easy to understand at a glance. I’ve grown to trust you, as if we were real life friends. Now, whenever I need to buy some new product, I turn to your channel FIRST over “Consumer Reports” and any other type channel/website. Keep up the great work and thank you for all that you do! This was a cool test. Somewhat dissapointing to see all the manufacturers fall short of their ratings. I've been using a Noco GB150 for years. At the time it was their biggest and newest jump starter. Comes with a nice case and has added features I found very useful as a mechanic. Never came across a vehicle I couldn't start. That largest was a dual battery F350 diesel. I'd definitely be interested in a round 3 test of the newest starters. Manufacturers will continue to come up with new items with outlandish claims for you to test. Thanks Todd @Project Farm

Peak amps is probably short-circuit amps.
@gophop
3 жыл бұрын
@@mckenziekeith7434 It's likely a theoretical maximum based on the cell manufacturer's specs. The internals of the jumper limit the current long before that peak since it would be useless at 1V (or however low they would drop at the max) and would kill the cells in a short order.
The Gooloo is pretty good I have one little different design but it can jump start like any vehicle with only like 20% battery life left it’s amazing how well it works. I’ve used it on many vehicles and it works even on the biggest diesel truck I’ve tested as well.
