ℹ️About the episode:
This is New Zealand. This is why we came. We stumbled across the best campsite ever. Truly stumbled across. After we stopped in Te Anau to get the Wildness Motorhome window fixed we decided to pass on the expensive holiday parks and make some progress toward Milford Sound. We found a great free camping option with no data coverage and the boys were persistent to leave. We drove up the road a bit further and found a decent site, but Trish suggested we keep driving a bit more. Then we found Deer Flat Campsite. Not only were the views gorgeous, but the boys found a rope swing and we enjoyed a glass of wine on the picnic table.
And then there was Milford Sound. No explanation is necessary. The video says it all. If you’re interested in seeing Milford Sound from the water, check out Southern Discoveries.

Many have asked if we are safe after the tragic event in Christchurch a few days ago. Yes, we're back in the States now. After spending time with the wonderful people of New Zealand, we will continue to hold a positive thought for all the lives impacted.

We went on a 13 day cruise around New Zealand last October. We had a wonderful time on our tours on land, interacting with the wonderfully friendly people of New Zealand. We enjoyed the sites. But, as enjoyable as it was, the views, the interactions with the people, the closeness of the beauty of what we are seeing on your journey is amazing to us. It makes us want to return, rent a van and see the rest of New Zealand.

OF COURSE we gave this great video a thumbs up! Everything KYD does is interesting enough to watch twice. My wife & I got a kick out of Marc saying "Please consider giving us a thumbs up,......we have set a goal of 2000 likes for each NZ video." We on the other hand, broke out the champagne later this afternoon when we got our 98th subscriber! I'm turning 67 shortly, and I'm fairly certain I don't have enough time left on the planet to get to 174,000 subs.

Wow, just wow! I am so enjoying your New Zealand trip. I spent eight weeks there back in the 1990s, mostly on the South Island. Your videos are bringing back so many memories for me. I did a farm stay in Te Anau. Instead of Milford Sound, I did the cruise on Doubtful Sound. It was a gray and mystical experience that ranks way up there! Your weekly videos are such a treat. Much thanks and gratitude 🙏

I totally called the wrong window thing. While watching with the wife, like I do every Sunday, I said, "Watch it's the wrong window." When it was, I told her I only said that because it's something that would happen to us. BTW, our motor home is in the shop to get the awning arm fixed because I knocked it of. Thought I'd bring that up since I have that in common with Marc. Also wanted to mention it if Marc gives Trish too much guff for the window 😄

WOW, just wow! From the simple family time to the AMAZING filming paired with the music, so well done! I watch your videos on my 4K big screen TV, and this episode was done so incredibly well the viewing was magical! It was truly spectacular and all of that came across to the viewers. Nice work. At the beginning, when you ask for 'likes' I want you to know that you should ask KZread to allow the likes from the TV, as I can't 'like' from the big screen, (although I am a subscriber) they should make it easier for viewers to like from TV because so many people are watching from their home TV, and you deserve the 'likes' so I jumped on the laptop to do so. Anyways, this was a fantastically done video, the music, the family the scenery- excellent! Enjoy the rest of your NZ adventure!

I lived in Christchurch in the early 90’s and was always amazed by the unspoiled beauty and how few people are there so it doesn’t get overcrowded. Had quite a few of the same experiences as you all did with the exception of breaking windows! Ha Ha First time we started in Christchurch, did the South Island, took the Interisland as you to the North, did the North Island and dropped the Wilderness in Auckland. 2nd time was reverse................did the North first and then the South dropping campervan in Christchurch. Helicopter to Milford Sound from Queenstown was amazing!!!!

Breathtaking is an understatement! And your musical choice for the first half of the Milford Sound scenes was so emotional...it just perfectly enhanced the incredible beauty! Stellar episode!

Such gorgeous scenery! I am so glad to have been able to watch this one the images will stay with me. It will be awhile before I can watch again as I head off for some serious surgery that will see my neck fused to my back. I only pray that I will be able to get out there this summer in our Reflection. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

The drive from Milford sound to the tunnel is absolutely spectacular in the rain. Hundreds of waterfalls appear as the rain has to run off the solid rock faces. On our way in it was pouring and we were thinking that was bad but when we saw how much more beautiful it was compared to our sunny drive out were glad!

Found your vlog. Had to watch the NZ. Our son was there last year from January until July! We went for two weeks and traveled much of the same area you did on the South Island. Milford sound was amazing along with the glaciers and then rainforest. Queenstown was also stunning!

I love watching you guys. New to rving and have watched your oldest videos all the way to current. I have to tell you, your editing and cinematography has progressed to a point where I sometimes forget I’m watching funny and informative videos and more feel as though I’m watching a Discovery channel documentary. Incredible work. Please keep sharing.

So I think the RV you used would be a massive hit here in the ‘ol USA... esp with the van movement going on here. I enjoy you’re videos and the mental break it gives me on Sunday nights. Thanks!

Just import them from EU? Much smaller but very space efficient and easy to drive/park
