I se to work for a local news television news station and one slow day the station manager asked me and one of the video editors to clean out the video equipment closet and told us to through away so old gear or take it home so I walked out with over $10,000.00 of gear that I traded in at a video retail store. 😃

People at store do this a lot my uncle would bring back tons of new stuff from the dump he worked at due to millions of dollars of new products being thrown out for no reason except it’s just easier than restocking

Me and my husband use to dumpster dive all the time we furnished 4 houses that way I had name brand everything. So to the other guy being so negative it really does happen that's why people do it.

I was a manager at best buy, radioshack both for many years. I also worked as an account manager supporting walmart, costco, Sams club, apple store. Can confirm they throw away old endcap items even in good working condition. Never understood why. They do throw away the boxes from displays too. It typically will have all the accessories in the boxes. They typically would have a tag on the box though.
