@@cheungfranklin3543 Spiders are as much of a pest as the insects. Plus if you want the effect of a spider, just put some fly tape up. Exact same effect, maybe even more effective.

Nice review, however I have to tell you.. Spiders are one of our biggest allies.

@@Edfiki86 Nah the most it'll do is void the warranty. Since it's marketed and sold as a toy, removing the safety isn't an issue; Think of all the nerf (and similar brand) guns that never had one in the first place. The safety is simply added by the manufacturer to improve the overall safety- pun intended- as well as to make it seem more like an actual firearm, i.e. more dangerous.

I'm going to use "blessed" salts so I kill flies and protect my house from their spirits at the same time.

Wow, I just found out about this new version 2 weeks ago and purchased it with the salt and laser sight. Boy does it take out mosquitos better then the 2.0 lawn and garden edition.

Loads of respect for the gun safety precaution!

That Gen III looks like an MP40! BTW: Let the spiders live! They trap and eat flies and other insects and they don't bother humans. They are beneficial.

I took a chance and bought the 2.0 and after sitting by my trash cans for over an hour with a few beers, I noticed my thumb was getting a blister from how many times I was selecting it to fire. Yes, I have shot it that much / had that much fun with it. You'll find yourself intentionally leaving rotting food or other perishables out just to attract flies. I'm happy to see the 3.0 has the upgraded safety! I didn't necessarily want to fork over more money for another one but I've got more than enough entertainment value out of the first one that I'm gifting it to someone else!

I have a bunch of black widows under my patio... I think this will be great

Amen. Me too. Most common complaint about the earlier models is that they broke/malfunctioned too early.

How durable is this gun compared to the others? Does the salt chamber clog up? I have the lawn and garden edition 2.0 actually two and one broke and won't stay cocked. I find that regular salt clogs up especially when it's humid and Kosher's salt works a little better and longer before clogging. I don't like having to clean out the salt from inside the salt chamber. Hopefully this model addresses these issues.

I wonder if sand wouldnt be better? I would think sand is less likely to absorb moisture from the air. A bag of play sand from lowes or hd should last for a decade or two.

@@coppulor6500They say not to use sand as it wears out the mechanism. At least the salt will rinse away. And don't use sugar as it will draw more bugs. I use kosher's salt in my gun. It doesn't spray as good as regular salt but the gun will go longer between having to clean it out. The salt will eventually gum up the gun. If not using it for a while remove the salt and rinse out the gun.

How are sturdiness & reliability? Many 2.0 reviews complained of it jamming/not working after too short a time. What's the warranty period?

The 2.0 is good for more erratic/fast flyers midair with the larger spread to knock em down, but the 3.0 is stronger and better for harder bugs. (Just disassemble and remove the entire safety on the 2.0 for "rapid fire")

Im glad I found this, I have probably 10,000 shots on my 2.0, with the safety screwed and permanently pinned back.... The issue was tonight somehow a wasp got in my pad, I shot him several times before he was stunned so time for an upgrade!! I hope these things get powerful enough to blast a Texas sized cockroach....seriously....flies are great, but bigger game is what I'm wanting to go after!!! Seriously....I shot a scorpion the other day and it got away, and I was craving a more powerful shot!! Hopefully this moves into the CO2 realm, I don't like spraying chemicals and crap everywhere....a larger more powerful blast of salt is the name of the game....obviously to much for a fly...but again a model for large insects would be awesome!! Can't live without my 2.0... smashing flies is disgusting....clean kill is much better!!

I suggested they make a sniper that shoots sugar Cubes or something like that for roaches and other hard shelled insects

Based on reviews, it is pretty accurate. People are reporting hits out to 10 feet, which is impressive.

Ok. I’m with you on the 3.0, but the whole purpose is directed at FLIES! Will you give opinion on the fact that the yellow 2.0 has a greater spread...wouldn’t a greater spread increase chances of getting the fly one is targeting? Won’t be able to get as close as you did shooting the wasps. What do think?

My question is, can it kill cockroaches? BA 2.0 could wound them but allowed them to scurry away.

Ngoc Bui If you have the accuracy, it will kill mosquitos if you have the aim. Sand just jams up the gun, and when it does fire its not even as powerful.

I'm going to use this for those pesky spotted lantern flies

Probably never, they had issues with getting the 2.0 allowed for sale in the UK because of our insanely strong laws against guns that fire anything.

I put an ATN thermal on mine only to find out insects are cold blooded 😩

saej kim yes it does, my first bug a salt was the lawn and garden. The lawn and garden does shoot more salt. However the new 3.0 does better at taking down mosquitos. The l&g missed them in flight. This 3.0 if I get them in sight takes them down. 👍
