    Really like the way you used the two lens angles during your on camera presentation. Switching off between the two. It looked Great in my opinion. Good job

    Absolutely brilliant and informative video, Justin! I absolutely love the look of this adapter and I think it's leagues above the Sirui, Great Joy, or Moment adapters. But, at around 3500 Canadian Pesos, it's making me wince a bit. I do have some Zeiss Contax lenses as well as a Helios, and I'm dreaming of the looks that I could get with this!

    Thanks for sharing. another advantage of 1.5X is that shooting using 4:3 you get an aspect ratio of 2:1, which is the scope most accepted for TV platforms (Netflix, HBO, etc.). Even more than 2:39.

    Great video as always and thanks for the tips Justin. Just got my Aivascope the other day and tested with metabones .71x + helios 58mm on the pocket 4k because thats all I can afford atm. I have noticed that the image appears much softer than I expected even If I stop down to around f4. And I have seen people say that speedboosters might interfere with reaching actual infinity focus on the taking lens. I might have to tweak around and test more when I have time but was wondering if you'd have any tips or tricks for this kind of situation.

    Yeah im not surprised. So much glass, you know, but also you’re stacking adapters. So i imagine even without the aiva, you would have trouble focusing to infinity. I would try just going straight from helios to p4k. Prolly be night and day. Might be a tad pushed in, maybe the 37 mir 1b would be a good wider companion

    @@JustinPhillip I'd love to do that but unfortunately it's a modded helios from ironside so it's fixed ef mount. I just hope I can upgrade to p6k soon so that I can still keep using my ef lenses and shoot sharp anamorphic also. Thanks for the reply Justin :) Keep up the good work!

    thanks so much for the video. Stumbling upon the aivascope really does make me doubt my recent purchase of the Sirui full frame. I really like the lens, but the aviascope has something magically imperfect about it that I really love. And those amber flares! So I'm now considering returning it and getting the aivascope (for which I'll have to sell my second kidney). What I was wondering, have you also tried the aivascope on the Contax Zeiss? And if so, apart from the size, do you still like the image with the Rokkors better? Are there any other lenses that you really liked with the aivascope?

    I havent tried Contax Zeiss myself but i have seen videos with the combo (search on vimeo). Really nice! Other lenses that i have used with it are Leica R & Canon FD. All quite nice with their own characteristics.

    As someone who just received a new 5th gen the Aivascope is also heavier now. So that is an advantage to your version.

    For some reason, my aivascope rod adapter doesn't fit the 52 to 52. Could it be a bigger thread size? Not sure what's going on here

    It's a great great review! But still expensive, 2700€, not so best budget, how does it compare to the new ones like Sirui full frame and Great Joy ?

  • @JustinPhillip

    @JustinPhillip

    Well the fact that you can use this scope with multiple different lenses and not be locked into one look, imo, is the main benefit that ultimately makes it the smarter investment. And i already shared my opinions on those other lenses in this video 😆

    Completely off the topic - you should really think of taking a "small" or "medium" role in some Indie movie - you've got real screen presence - I know DP work and other associated disciplines are what you are really into - it's just a thought on my part - any scene in some small town where the principal character ends up in and gets talking to "this guy" - you - who's playing a store assistant and starts telling the principal character that there's a lot of things "going on in this town".. "that" you "would rather not talk about..." - seriously - you have real screen presence - not joking !

    Congratulations on the video, very informative. Do you think it is feasible to use it on a set of zeiss contax with 80mm simmod lens front ring? i.e. would it be to use it with a fixed step up ring to hold on the 58mm to 80mm adapter. too much space? Wouldn't I be able to take the front ring off the zeiss contax and adapt them from time to time with just one ring
