I always liked how Gael runs to us from the center, it's like the boss is the one doing the unnecessarily long runback this time.

As someone who just platinumed elden ring but hasn’t played any other souls games before, I’m surprised how many enemies in ER seem to take after this boss. To name a few: - Bloodhound Nights - Malenia - Rykard Goes to show how influential this boss must’ve been

While I respect this opinion, I do find Elden Ring’s bosses to be the best in the Souls series, they’re mechanically very deep & intricate compared to DS3 bosses, positioning is crucial when fighting against them also their combo-flowcharts are way more dynamic & deeper, plus the addition of the jumping button & jump attacks add a lot more to the fights. I’d put Malenia, Radahn, Mohg, Maliketh & Radagon above Gael tbh. Idk it’s just after playing Elden Ring a lot, and getting used to it, DS3 bosses & overall combat feel much more tame & underwhelming, it’s a 2016 game I know that.

Been fighting Slave Knight Gale for the past three days on my first playthrough, can't beat him but he is by far the greatest soulsborne boss I ever played

@@ShadowDemon2228 I did. Just this morning. And you're right. Epic doesn't even begin to describe it. I'm moving on to my next game, but beating Dark Souls 3 put me in that state of depression you get finishing a good game or a series. One of the greatest works of literature and dark fantasy I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing

This might be a hot take, but I don’t think there’s a single Elden ring boss that even comes close to this fight
Gael is definitely my favorite DS3 boss, but I'd argue the best boss would come from Elden Ring. I'm not sure where all the Elden Ring hate comes from, but it has some really magnificient fights.

Elden ring only gets hate from online comments, it’s still has the highest player base, highest rated, most awarded game of all time, Miyazaki has said it’s the closest of all his games to his ideal game so it can’t be that bad after all lol

Name one fight in ER base game that's better than Gael. Gaels fight is the epitome of a perfect fromsoft boss. Arena 10/10. Lore 10/10. Mechanically 10/10. Balance 10/10. OST 10/10. There's nothing in ER that is on the level of Gael in every aspect.

@@mithex8414Although I agree Gael is perfect on every level, there are some fantastic bosses in ER that come somewhat close. I thought Maliketh was incredible, as well as Radagon (too short though). But there are two categories that I consider to make Gael unbeatable; lore and arena. The significance of the fighting the wielder of the dark soul of man, in the body of a mere hollow and at the end of time is just something else. ER is an incredible game, but Gael sets the bar too high - and has the advantage of being the conclusion of three games.

If I were to really push it, I'd say (and this is incredibly subjective) that Maliketh comes the closest to Gael. There are two things that prevent it from being as good to me; the lackluster arena and the fact that it's not a second health bar, which makes it too short. But damn, it's still so good.
