Best Boat Wreck in England? Fine Art Photography Appledore
In this video entitled "Fine Art Photography Best Boat Wreck in England? Appledore" I capture Great shots at a boat graveyard.
Last week I headed South to the lovely seaside town of Appledore to photograph a couple of old wrecks. The decaying ships sit on River Torridge Estuary near Appledore, Devon.
► MY POST-PROCESSING: tinyurl.com/k7vgzv4
At first sight, they don't look too amazing but with a little vision and photoshop skills, of course, they soon turn into pieces of printable art.
I think these are the best boat wrecks in England, even better than the ships at Pin Mill.
Maybe you disagree?
Thanks to Peter night for recommending the location.

Appledore, lovely spot, was there a few weeks ago staying with relatives who live near the new Bideford bridge in the background. Great boat wreck images Gary and I know it’s not in England but there is a great wreck of the Juniata on Inganess Beach on Orkney that I shot in August as a fine art image, will try to share it with you. It was my first attempt and very happy with it.
Yes they do!
Really interesting Video Gary, I came across a shipwreck up in Scotland recently. Wish I had seen this video prior to taking my photographs as they would have been so much better with the additional pointers that you make.
Wow 1 mile from my house but never done that with them boats Amazing as always Gary
Like a kid in a sweetshop you were 😁 Stunning images Gary 👏👏 I'm not sure if you enjoy holidaying in the Mediterranean but if so you might want to check out the Edro III wreck off Paphos. Looks right up your street Gary.
Great images Gary, not sure I understand the landscape and subject thing you were talking about, it was going over my head. Glad you had a great time, could feel your excitement
Excellent as per norm Garry , just wondering if you have heard of Bowling , lovely place full of abandoned boats , one for you the next time you are up in Scotland
Gary, the results are fantastic my friend, I do agree with Mike that the last one with the bike frame is wonderful, its fine art at its best, I really would like to get more into fine art, but for post processing i only have access to Snapseed at the moment which is a little limited. That said I am still enjoying the Photography practice & following your wonderful videos & advice

You are a real artist. I have admired your skill to capture the beauty of so many scenes ever since I came upon your channel. Regarding this boat, I wonder if it, being so close to the shore, would be amenable to a night shot and accent lighting.
Fantastic images and post processing Gary, have you been to visit The Corpach Wreck near Fort William, well worth a visit for someone with your skills. 👍😎
yup...the bike shot is the winner
For some great boat wrecks - try the salt marshes down at Fleetwood (Lancs)..
One of the best ship wreck shots av seen black n white and everything removed WOW banging shot fella 📷👌 PS. where are these please 🙏
Wow Gary that's an amazing skill to be able to achieve this.... was it photoshop or just lightroom. When you back up there north east ? Remember to pop in for a cuppa.
Dear Gary I have been your fan, if you please show how process these great pics also.
Pin Mill, Suffolk has some wonderful wrecks
fantastic as always Gary, loved the bike too. Wish you had a vary angle screen, worry about your neck. I think its time for me to learn your process. cheers
I've thought a lot about this, Gary, and "remove and never add" is not strictly true when you think carefully about it. When you remove something you do not leave *nothing* in its place -- a hole. Instead, you replace it with something else. Typically, something that is non-distracting, soft, and very neutral. Not that this detracts from the beauty of your creations, let me be very clear. It's art and you're open and honest about what you do, which is the main thing. I only wish other photographic artists had your integrity and honesty.
Really love your fine art photography work, Gary, it's so clean with minimalism. Been following your channel for a while and now you have me as a subscriber. Interested to see how you do your post edit. I was wondering if such type of photos will work with an 8.2 ND filter if you have no 10 stop lying around. Will there be a need to re-calibrate the shutter exposure or can I still use the same 2 min or 4 min. duration and at least come up with a decent photo and do the adjustments in post. Would love to hear your thoughts. More power!
Wonderful photos like always. Just curiosity how long does it take you to do the final photo....
Dad jokes rule! Great video and love your work!
The style is not my cup of tea, but, as an image, the boat wreck with the bike wreck is a superb image. Cheers!
If you were to visit Instow ( just across the river , in the distance) at the far end of Instow is a old abandoned fuel jetty with two other abandoned ships , another great image location, also across the river ( between Westleigh & Instow) there also another 2 ships abandoned along the side , great image though 😃
Wundervolle Kunst. Viele Grüße aus Germany von Loki
Gary, may I ask who Peter is? Absolutely beautiful shots!!
Not UK but Carmet Sur Mer France has wooden abandoned boats. Great work as always.
Hi Gary, I am going to be in Appledore next week. Where exactly are these wrecks please, are they on the Appledore side of the estuary or on the opposite bank to Appledore. Thank you

Some nice wrecks there Gary and not to far from me. The one near me on the River Brue quite nice as well. Check out my vid from a few weeks ago to see that one. 👍
Damn, amazing shots! I never really get to taking longer shots, because I can only do 30 sec, and the Sony app is booty hole, so I can't really do bulb.
Totally get and enjoy your enthusiasm Gary, wonderful subjects captured brilliantly well with the Gary Gough method! You consistently deliver top content in the landscape genre while many around you who claim to have been pro photographers for years make new discoveries to them and deliver them as if they discovered something or a genre that no one else has ever seen, lol. And to be totally honest I’m getting bored of people aiming their camera randomly at a section of woodland enclosed in mist forgetting everything about composition and proclaiming they’ve produced yet another masterpiece. Composition takes work and effort and boy do you put some work in! 🍺👏👍😀
😃desperate for a wee? I'm not entirely that transmits to US slang....I think it means you need a private tree, eh?
i have a better one ;)

Interesting 👍
If I was environment minister I would put my crews to work removing all those polluting abandoned boats. Anybody that abandons a boat gets a prison sentence. Just plain disgusting.
