@@johndipinto4084 Nah, I've used a bass chart to help me play chords in the left hand. After maybe a couple brief self-sessions, I could play the song Hallelujah. If I owned an accordion, I could try playing more advanced and maybe even polka, but I only had maybe half an hour every other Monday.

The biggest enemy of the accordion is the accordion itself. I mean it’s a great instrument. But good ones cannot easily be afforded by many people. If someone wants their kids to try it not knowing if kids will keep learning it it’s too expensive dive to try. A guitar , a flute, or a violin can be bought cheaply and be just good enough to learn. These other instruments can be replaced or fixed more cheaply. Accordion is a bigger decision z

Accordions have a lot more parts and intricacy involved in the build and are made our of a bunch of different materials. So the pricing standards are different compared to a guitar. Your 2,500 Fender American strat would be the equivalent of a $5-8 thousand dollar accordion. Your cheap Starter accordion brand new would range from 5-800 dollars (used one for about 350-500) that’s just the standard. It sucks but that’s how it is.
