I'm glad tht you finally cut someone with an oval shaped line so that I can see how it should be done. His line is very similar to mine. I used to screw up by trying to make it a straight box which made me keep pushing it back. Now I see you just follow the curvature.

Yo noob question. What’s the trick to getting the smooth cut. When I cut I struggle with the little loose strands of hair popping up after the cut almost right away. Really after a shower and hair wash. How do you get those to pop up during the cut to smooth them out?
