Best Battery for Losi Promoto MX? Stick and shorty!

The new Losi Promoto MX is quite the unique RC vehicle - and that comes with a few challenges when looking for the right battery to power it.
Losi has been VERY clear - this is 2S ONLY.
That does help with the battery selection - when taking into account wire length and placement.
Here are the batteries that will work:
- The recommended Spektrum: www.avantlink.com/click.php?t...

Thanks for the idea! They offer a foam spacer in the box that could be shoved down in the battery compartment - but once it is in there, not 100% sure how I would get it out...and I like the idea of the weight being more central. Hope you can get one soon!

I’ve good luck with Zeee 5200mah batteries, $35 for 2 on Amazon. The Lectron Pro 5200 also fits well. I used the low profile bullets with the proper length wire soldered onto IC5 to not have to cut the battery door at all.

Nice job getting this pretty much sorted out. Question: would making some battery lead extensions work adding length to to packs that fit in the battery tray? Wouldn’t that be the simplest solution , Oran I missing something?

I like the auto discharge feature of the spektrum batteries because sometimes I charge them up but don't get a chance to run them like I thought and I don't have to reconnect it to a charger to discharge back to safe storage levels. I feel you though that price sometimes is like ughhhhh😤

I'm not sure what charger you are referring to as the "stock charger". Mine did not come with a charger. I recommend staying away from the "smart" chargers. They cost dramatically more than a non-smart charger and they tend to work best with their same-brand batteries - which also drives the cost up.
