John, Quad lock sells a universal joint to add to your existing setup. I used it and can angle it very well.

I love my tackform ..beautiful chrome and vibration dampener..it doest move a centimeter at 100 mph..and looks so dope...

Ice vid as always. I was able to change my risers on my 23CVO without having to take off TripleTree. Just need a long extension for Ratchet and a universal joint to get right angle of attack 😀 was pretty simple. You do have to turn bars all way left and the right to get access to the whole nut (bolt)

Ditch the Quadlock and go with the Rokform. I have the exact same bar/riser setup and it fit perfectly with way more adjustability. It also comes in chrome which was a huge plus!

Whats the model you are using?

John I have the same bars with a quad lock mount. You just have to change out to a different quad lock mounting accessories. I use there ram ball setup which gives you the angle flexibility you need.

I haven’t read all the comments but QL makes an adapter that will solve your problem! I had a very similar issue with my ape hangers.

Im convinced that def seems to be the most convenient way to transport the luggage! Adding to my "to buy" list for sure :)

I have a RickRack…did west coast to east coast and back and it was so nice and portable ….put waterproof cover on and nothing got wet…between the three bags I had some tools, tire repair kit with compressor, two pair of riding pants and, a few lightweight shirts, socks and underwear obviously. The rest was my Klim Marrakesh (best summer riding jacket in the world) a liner for when I need to warm up and rain gear. You need room for all the shit you are gonna buy along the way! So then you expand the Rickrack..

I got the exact same thrashin bar set up ,very comfortable

I have a cup holder on my bike comes in handy ..Also my hand camera stem fits the cup holder as its adjustable 2 for 1 :-)

John go to a rod shop or J&P cycle and get a acorn nut to top off the all thread and they come in chrome. Just an idea for ya. Safe travels God bless you Brother

Happy Birthday! Mine is the 7th. You might put a nylon insert nut or a lockwasher on that quadlock mount so it doesnt vibrate loose. That was a great idea though!!

Really hope to see you at Steel City. Wish Glen was coming so I could check out the fairing on his RK.

A little superglue or silicone and the left grip slides right on the bare bar. I think you have to t are a razor and trim the first ring off the grip so it will sit in the control housing. 2 Lane life shows it in their video.

The bars look killer. Very nice setup. I love thrashin

Go to two lane life’s video for the easiest install for the bars and riser. This was done by Cole Sealy and Jaun at the Thrashin’ shop on Lance Sr bike. Wife and I did mine in about 1 1/2 hrs including refereeing to the video.

Well, ya just sold a RickRack system, lol. Just started researching options for multi day trips w/ my SGS and how to pack. Was thinking a tour pack but way more $ and I’d be packing in garage bags to fit it in there. RR system is a no brainer. Thanks!

I agree 100% on the modification with the rod. That isn’t made for that application and could fail on you.

@CYCLEFANATIX be that as it may, i would go on Mccmaster and Carr website for the right length SS hardened bolt, better safe than sorry. A couple of years back, I hit a bad pothole on I95 south on the bike, and I got mad air. A mile further down the road I looked down and my phone was gone... lesson learned always use the safety straps and STAY OFF SHITTY I95! 😆

@@CYCLEFANATIXit will rot out your threads. Never thread steel into aluminum. The dissimilar metas react and cause galvanic corrosion, it will compromise your threads. This is why they supply stainless steel hardware or specially coated steel that prevents galvanic corrosion. Stainless will not react with the aluminum like steel will. Also you need grade 8 or higher for tensile strength. Home Depot all thread is only grade 2. Too much stress at that point to chance it. Also because steel and aluminum react with each other (galvanic corrosion) the threads will likely rot out. It must be stainless steel and grade 8. Trust me i’m a Machinist and see it all the time. Not worth it especially for a phone. Get the Rockform mount and phone case it’s virtually the same but better quality and they have a perch mount that mounts to the handle bar control clamp.

Quad lock have a swivel that would work with your system. I use it and it let's you adjust it in any direction

Hey John! I have the same Thrashin bar setup on my 23RGST. For my quad lock to look right I tried their little swivel elbow off their site. $10. It worked great. I wish they did a ball and socket type deal but the elbow fixed it for me. Maybe you can order up a longer ARP bolt. Cool idea on a quick fix! Also from a shorter rider I have the Thrashin 6.5 pullback riser with the 1” riser extension on the bottom with their top triple tree. High bend bars. Love love them. I used their gauge relocation setup also. I’m 5’5 29” in inseam. I can see everything on my screen. It’s a reach to use the touchscreen but I got used to it. I use wireless Apple CarPlay with my wireless charging quad lock just like you did with Mad Max. I like all my setups clean as well no clutter or fuss

Oh man Beautiful ARP 12pt bolts ..can u get a longer bolt from ARP? Instead of that hardware store threaded rod ? That’s 25% of the clamping force on the clamp at risk

Hey John Quadlock has a chrome clap to wrap around that bar by neck that u can then mount what u have to it... don't us that threaded rod.. not safe...

I looked at the Rickrak bag at their display at Laconia. Very nice bag. I have considered trying one after seeing so many on youtube. Just can't bring myself to buy one, no way it holds as much as my chopped tour pak.

Quad Lock has a Handlebar Clamp Mount that has the bolt already built in and replaces one of the clamp bolts. You'll need to confirm that the thread works with your bike.
