Hitachi are definitely an underrated audio brand! Back in the early 90s I built a second system around a used SR-504L receiver, but sold it when I downsized during my student days. I recently picked up another SR-504L, and it's every bit as good as I remember. Despite being over 40 years old, it still looks and works like new, and has a clean, uncoloured sound. My only caveat for their cassette decks is that they're highly prone to belt decay, but if you can find one that's been serviced (or don't mind replacing the belts yourself) they're very good performers.

Thank you for the insights :) And yeah, belt replacements for these units will eventually be a must. The model I got was in really good conditions so I'll have to update on that. Happy listening 🎶
That Argentinian accent is like the smoothest vegan butter enveloping my brain, melting into every wrinkle of it, cooking it in a cocoon of pleasure.

You already had me at vegan butter, Mr 333. That's probably the most beautiful compliment I have ever gotten. Thanks for watching

I own two Hitachi receivers from 1980-81. Love them, great! Well built too.
My tv in my living room is a 20" Hitachi set from 1986. Hitachi is a true sleeper brand.
Didn't expect to learn such a fascinating history behind the brand! Thank you for sharing all the info in such an enjoyable way 👍

Because of the music in the video, there is no way that you don't know Electronic Gems. I don't know all songs in your video by name, but I definitely listened to them hundreds of times. The music is just amazing.

I actually don't know Electronic Gems :) But for what I've seen it's compilations of synth-wave artists. I'm a big fan of the style obviously ☺️
Fantastic video. Enjoyed it very much.

I really love the OG vibes of your videos. You know, cassettes, old japanese tech ads, poor quality vintage clip vs high quality parts for tutorials. I started following you in 2020 (with an other account) at the very beginning and honestly this niche channel is sadly very underrated. I hope you are doing well and still making vids. Best wishes to you !

Hey there! Thank you for the kind words! I've started during the pandemic cause I had the free time to dedicate myself entirely to that. It's a very niche channel indeed but I enjoyed making those videos, that's enough reward :) I'm hoping soon I can lower my working hours irl so I can go back to it. Wish you all the best, thank you for watching 🙏🏻

VIDEO TYPE IV !
Hitachi gear is really underrated. They made some of the most complex, weird, and beautiful cassette decks. The tapeheads in there higher end tapedecks was apparently one of the best tapeheads ever made. Though I believe the more modern Hitachi's (also Realistic) 3 headers are much better. And go for around 50~200 Dollars Broken or Serviced.

Absolutely. Their high-end decks are prised as the best of the best, but they are really hard to find in the West. Their Lo-D line had also top notch speakers. Hopefully one day I can make a video about those. Thanks for the info!

could someone help me: my d2330 records tapes that playback at a faster bpm.. any idea what is causing such or how to fix it?

Hi there Hope you might help me. Would you know what the maximum voltage a Walkman could take safely when powered by a wall wart from an ac outlet? I have an old WM F107 I’d like to test but the battery holders cap is missing and I’m not sure if the solar battery is still functioning. Be Well 🌞

Hey there! That's something I havent's tried. Some Walkmans can be plug to the wall but they have the built-in port to do that. I would personally not do it, specially with such a beautiful and original model :)
Hey um .. I have a radio/cassette player/cd that has a copying mechanism from one cassette to another and I was wandering if anyone knew if I can record a cassette from an MP3 or audio source a cassette
