Best Area for Muslim Expats in Turkey - Basaksehir, Istanbul

Are you thinking of moving to Turkey as a Muslim expat and looking for a Muslim friendly community where you feel at home? Think no further than Basaksehir, Istanbul!
Basaksehir, Istanbul is situated in the North part of Istanbul, around 35 min drive from the city centre (depending on traffic ofcourse!). It has become well known for Muslim expat families settling in, especially those who value the positive Islamic environment as well as having superb facilities and amenities that Basaksehir compounds (sites) have to offer.
In this video, I will show you what this community looks like and give you a bit of an overview about one of the most popular areas of Basaksehir, which is Kayasehir Merkezi and the enormous park located there.

Merhaba everyone. Ayaan here, from Karachi, Pakistan. Two years back, my family and I made the move to Turkey, seeking a more Islamic way of life. Initially, it was incredibly enchanting - Adhans resonating, daily prayers - a perfect fit. But, as time passed, things shifted. We didn't always experience kindness. Doubtful looks came our way, despite our simple wish to blend in. My young sons, innocent and capturing subway moments, faced shouting and even hurtful names like "pedophiles." Truly heartbreaking. I believed Turkey, being a Muslim country, would embrace us, yet we encountered racism. Despite conversations, it felt like our differences in appearance and speech set us apart. With hope for an Islamic bond, I came, but after enduring two painful years, my family and I chose Egypt. A different place, fresh challenges, but Alhamdulillah, there's a sense of understanding among people here. May Allah guide us all. If you're contemplating a move, reflect deeply and pray for guidance.

Good evening sir, lam ltalian and l visited Turkyie twice. I am Christian and they treated me like a sis. I think many of them would like their country to be called "a secular" one, with no religions mentioned. This is what young generations told me, while visiting Izmir and Istanbul. My own experience. God bless!

Why did you not stay in Pakistan? Turkey is a secular country and you moved there for a more Islamic way of life? It doesn't make sense. If you want a more Islamic way of life why not make Pakistan more Islamic. Why not struggle in the way Allah in Pakistan and change Pakistan. Thats the problems with you south Asia Muslims, you want to free load on other people's efforts. Use other people's countries and resources while you don't contribute anything. Why not put in the effort and make your own country Islamic? why did you run away from the fight. Why not struggle in Pakistan. Egypt and Turkey should not be responsible for taking care of you. Plus I don't believe you moved to Turkey or Egypt for a more Islamic way of life. None of those countries are more Islamic than Pakistan. You moved there because you don't like your own kind in Pakistan.

Brother one advice.Dont move to countries which is closer to Europe even if they are muslim majority.Chances are you would face situations like these.Turkiye have become more intolerant about Arabs,South asians and Muslims in general and more tolerant to Europeans.Even though they claim to be secular they had a ban on headscarves from 2000.I am from bosnia and my friend is from chechnya and she looks middle eastern.Astagfrullah the way I was treated was more nicer than my friend because I looked more Slavic and my friend looked more middle eastern.

Nice video, but I don't understand these comments. Most Turkish people have a set of values mixed of Islam, Western values and Turkish culture. Nobody is going to be discriminating people who are religious. But you need to understand that Turkey is a secular country and if you want everyone around you to be muslims you should move to a islamic country. Today, 70% of the young Turkish population is non-believer. The vote rate of the current administration is 30%, Islam is over for Turkey, there is an election in 2023, please watch and see Unfortunately, my friend Atatürk finished Islam in these lands years ago, the Turkish people once saw the open-mindedness and prosperity brought by the West and will never give up.

Correct. But if you read the title of the video, it's meant to help Muslim expats. And for us Muslims, race, tribe and language is of secondary importance while Islam is our primary identity. If you ever seen muslims praying in the mosque five times a day, we stand shoulder to shoulder with African, Arab, Turk, Kurd, Indian, Indonesian, Malaysian all in unison worshiping One God and are governed by One law in the Quran. There is no class or racial lines as we are forbidden in the Quran to divide religion along the lines of race, language and sects. And that is why you will see Muslim societies throughout ages were most accepting of different races and intermingling of language, food, architecture and culture be it 7th century Arabia, 15th Center Ottoman Empire or the Mughal Empire in India. Hope that helps.

@@nomorenews Nope. You ingenious assertion about Muslim being deeply divided into liberal vs conservative as if we are Christian West is erroneous and shows your liberal agenda of muddying the water. Liberals are a fringe minority among muslims and shall remain a fringe and deviant sect who try hard to secularize us with western liberal dogmas and keep failing for the last 100 year. As far as practicing Vs non-practicing muslims goes, yes, there are some non-practicing muslims who are involved in degeneracy like porn, sex and drugs. But don't you dare classify them as exemplary Muslims or even a significant majority because that's outright slanderous assertion much like how the West tries to paint ISIS as mainstream muslims. Any muslim majority country you visit will remain a conservative majority including Turkey where deviant liberals tried very hard to impose European secularism with brute military force banning athan and hijab, but at the end of the day, they were rejected and thrown out of power. Turkey and most muslim nations where Liberal Secularism was forcefully imposed with brute force, invasion or military coups still boasts significant conservative Muslim population and shall remain so alhamdulillah. And your slanderous assertion about Muslims based on your isolated experience of some muslims involved in fahisha(sexual immorality) or having bars and red light areas around some muslim locality certainly don't define 2 billion of us. Thanks!

Hello everyone, there are many Muslims in the comments who want to move to Turkey for a bit. You just need to know that Turkey is not an Islamic country. It is a country governed by secularism. Please stay away from radical Islam and come to Turkey that way.
