I wanted a Filson 256 in Otter Green for the longest time but Vermillyea Pelle came out with a briefcase that was basically everything I was looking for in the Filson but better and I bought it almost instantly. 37oz olive waxed canvas, Sedgwick English bridle straps, hand-hammered rivets, what's not to love? And it was cheaper!

I love the work you put into the slow upclose pan shots to show off the details. Those shots look amazing 👏

I love all the bags on here but I do think the Bradley Mountain bag is an absolute gem of a buy. Love that they're all Bags made in the USA but the Bradley Mountain just looks like a family heirloom style of bag. Maybe one day I can afford it!

You're forgetting the rambler from Bradley mountain, its their largest duffle at 52L and also the most affordable

For international travel and the risk of pick-pocketing/theft, the omission of exterior pockets on the Filson is a positive. As well as the storm flap.

Bags made in the USA are the only type I want! Though I'd make ready exceptions for Mexico, Spain, Italy, and Japan.

I have 3 Filson bags, a bunch of Mulholland Bros, Will Leather Goods, etc... Too many duffle bags of all types of materials to count but if I have to buy another canvas duffle bag now, i would buy the Cravar CO Travel duffle in canvas/leather. Good looks, organization, full leather bottom, veg tanned leather. All for $360 delivered. For the price of the Filson you can get the all leather version. Filson bags have become so expensive. I can't believe my 2006 Medium Field Bag is now $595.

Bags made in the USA. One brand to mention is Vermilyea Pelle - I have a number of bags from them and they take everything about the Filson and elevate every detail.

Bags made in the USA. Exactly what I was looking for! Trying to get my travel gear in aome sort of order. I had pixked up the Nutsac and was just plain too small. Love the Filson but a little more than I wanted to spend. I tend to overpack so I may go for the Heat Straps. I think you should do a supplemental video! Pack some boots, flannels and some of those white t shirts you have!!! Lol!

For a bag this size I just use an early 90's German Bundisweiser mountain rucksack somebody gave me as a teenager. If I didn't have that I'd buy a USGI medium A.L.I.C.E pack at the local surplus store. For a larger back I use the big ol' USGI duffle bag my dad handed down to me. I've used it a ton, but don't really go anywhere these days and it's now used to store mu summer clothes under the bed.

I love Bradley Mountain, I have a few backpacks and totes from them. For Bags made in the USA, BM is a very good choice. Now, I own a few Filson bags and backpacks as well, and I have absolutely nothing to complain about it. Filson materials are indestructible; if you can afford it, I think everyone should experience Filson.

I think you should make another video of bags made in the USA , this time leather ones. If I didn’t already own the Filson I think I’d go with the Pioneer. Love all the pockets

I fell in love with Filson's heritage wear and the classic designs they have and other manufacturers. For bags made in the USA and other gear they're amazing but still too far out of my price range. I'll go back to dreaming about a Mackinaw wool coat 😂

Bags made in the USA. I have a Filson that I got from my in-laws. I had the chance to claim a garment bag and a second duffle but I was an ignorant fool and turned them down. That said, the Filson I kept has been my go-to travel bag for work and vacations and it’s been phenomenal. Knowing there are top notch competitors is great because eventually this bag will bite the dust. It is of the older design with the two shoulder strap d-rings on the same side. That’s the only thing about it that I don’t care for.

I had always wanted Filson but ended up with Duluth Pack and Frost River bags. Love them both, and they are made in Minnesota, so that was a plus. I just can’t justify the additional cost of Filson.

I got my Filson medium duffle (otter green) a few years ago for $395. At the time, I felt that was steep but never regretted the purchase and still love using it when I travel. But for $595 nowadays? Oof. It’s a hard call, but I’d go with Bradley Mountain. I have their Biographer backpack and love it just as much as the Filson.

there is frost river explorer duffel bag with 102L size that cost half price of these one in the video with great quality.

I own about 10 or more Filson bags, including the medium duffel in the vid, in otter. Great bag. Well made and feels top notch. My issue is that Filson jacked the price up substantially about 2yrs ago. Used to cost $395. Its now $595. Way too much.

Totally agree! Rolling a suitcase is FAR better than carrying anything. Although that’s where the luggage strap on Heat Staps bag comes in handy.

I was on the cusp of getting a Filson rolling carry-on bag and then they decided to discontinue it! Any suggestions for me?

I think any of these bags would be great options and would last for years. All pretty expensive but in my experience bags are one of those products where you usually get what you pay for.

Bags made in the USA. The Bradley Mountain Rambler is actually the largest duffle they offer, the Ranger is more meant to be an overnight / weekend trip kind of bag. The rambler is more basic but has significantly more volume. Perhaps you can do a review of that! Also if you’re talking about briefcases, you should check out BM’s Courier.

Bags made in the USA. I like all three, although I’d be interested in seeing the Bradley Mountain in the other color. The Heat Straps looks cool, but I’m not sure about the contrasting color for the pockets. Certainly the Filson rugged twill looks great, however maybe a full width external pocket on one or both ends wouldn’t disrupt the otherwise clean exterior.
