I think you should also have added 3 more points to the list. Overall very good comparison. 1. Where should I place the purifier? Do we need to put one in every room? 2. Also include the parameter of how much electricity it costs? 3. And should we keep it on for like 24 hrs? Or use it like an Air conditioner few hours per day?

not a professional but I'll try. 1. you can google about the best position to put a purifier in I think you'll get apt answers (I have no info about it hence can't say). Every room - not really cuz it'll just be wayy too expensive plus purifiers are not really heavy if you'd want to carry them around in the room you're present. 2. I think you can calculate by what units they consume. That info will be given on seller websites. 3. Not really, what's the point of keeping it on for 24 hours while no one will be at the house i don't think anyone stays in their house for whole of 24 hours. Plus, pollution is much more at the night time so yeah I think you can keep it off in the morning to noon hours or set timers on it so it turns off automatically and keep it on for the 8-10 hours you sleep inside that room. Just my 2 cents, not a professional bud.

Coway was priced at 10,000 and now has gone up to 14,000!!! 40% price hike in 1.5 years. Really hard to go with company this greedy. Also, Just HEPA filter cost. 3,000. Carbon filter costs 1500 and requires change after approx 6 months. So the annual cost of running coway is 3000+1500+1500. Philips filter is H14 which is better then coway and it cost is 4500.

Ignore everything and go for Xiaomi. It's the most practical purchase. Not only is is it budget friendly and interactive, its filters are easily available, easy to change and again, budget friendly. He didn't give a fair verdict by placing Xiaomi as 5th. All this testing and everything is fine for content creation but in the end, you want something that works and works good and Xiaomi does that. If you have too much money and want an air purifier that also works as a showpiece, go for Dyson. Note that filter replacement should be one of the most important factors in making your purchase decision, you don't want to be stuck with an air purifier that becomes useless to you after a season. In my opinion, Dyson, Xiaomi and Coway have filters that are readily available without much hassle and Dyson and Xiaomi are the ones whose filter is very easy to replace and hence are the purifiers that can also be cleaned easily. Notice how he too uses a Xiaomi filter in the beginning of the video to show the difference between a used and a new filter.

Vineet Ji, what a review simply superb with full of details. I have a small information to share: I have been using Sharp Air Purifier from last 5 - 6 years and I have replaced the filter twice only, having said that Rs 4500 price tag of filter needs to change once in two years and that is awesome. And my cousin got Coway Air Purifier just recently and you are right that the room's air quality improved in less than 30 mins. Please continue doing such great work.

Yes, the pollution levles would go down to near zero. However it isn't really needed.

Coway is not value for money as well, @vmone you only told about hepa filter cost that is 3000, and you did not tell carbon filter cost that is 1500, so total filter replacement is 4500. Why being partial for coway ?

Main thing in maintaince is use vaccum cleaner on the filter in every 3 months, to filter can go upto 1.5 months. There is no fan sound or anyother problem, just dont buy white colour it gets light pale yellow colour with time

Excellent review and video, sir. A few points: you keep calling the measurement AQI but the numbers shown on XIaomi and your air quality monitor are PM2.5 readings, not AQI. The Xiaomi unit has the same laser PM2.5 particle detector as your dedicated unit and both have similar accuracy. Xiaomi unit shows lower value as it is placed inside the purifier where the air is cleaner compared to a few feet away where you have your own device. It's like measuring temperature at AC vent or a few feet away. Secondly, Xiaomi is less aggressive in operating at maximum speed on auto mode. If you were to set it on high, it would have definitely outperformed all other purifiers. Finally, your numbers seem wrong. You showed PM2.5 readings of 900 plus and 700 plus when starting tests but this season we haven't had such readings at all. So, unless you burnt something to produce smoke, it is unlikely that your room had such readings. The reading of 500 plus with Xiaomi test was more reasonable. Xiaomi is hands down the best purifier of the lot.

Both of the brands promise long life of their filters but still the testing conditions may vary between them. Can we can get a fair idea by looking at the desity of their HEPA filters?

Vineet Sir, Plz reply I'm new to air purifiers currently am using Coway Air Mega about 2 days now. For these hours of usage I can't barely see a difference. I put some hairs around it for testing and it didn't even move even at the speed of 3. I have small dandruff problem these days and i can still see it in my table where i placed the Air mega nearby. So is it really working???? I'm now worried what actually it usually does and why i bought. It always go to green after 1 minute and the fan is working perfectly as i can see it. No dust at all in the filter for now. My Air quality may be too good as currently its 43 in my area but it didn't even catch those hair or dandruff dusts as supposed to be.

Sir, activated carbon in only in philips, thats better that carbon coated . Also pre filter in coway and philip helps increasing the life of hepa filter and we can wash the pre filter once in two week. I am using airmega and philips.

It seems your AQI metter has an issue...you can't have 500+ aqi in a normal office room which is even higher than peak pollution outdoors. It can happen if you have a open kitchen or something. It seems Mi is more accurate than your freestanding meter.

I have been using the Coway air purifier since 2 years in 2 rooms and it is truly effective and a must have for Delhi NCR folks !!

@@goswami_himanshu I had similar doubts and had even reached out the folks at Coway call centre. They told me when on auto mode it keeps changing its speed to maintain the aqi level to the best possible range. So when it is green or blue, the fan speed is lowest and then again when the level increases to yellow it increases the speed to clean the air again. At peak pollution levels it happens often. If you want you can set the fan speed to maximum which will keep on cleaning the air with full power and hence might stay in green/blue level if the aqi is not crazy high but I prefer the auto mode.

@@shubhamjain54519 in the past 2 years i have never had to change the hepa filter. I dont use it in all months but only when the aqi goes beyond 200-250 which is mostly around 3 months per year and that too only while i am sleeping because thats the time when i am not moving around and the room is sealed shut properly. I am guessing the filter should last 2 more years with my level of usage. However i clean the pre filter regularly which helps improve the hepa filter life

First of all it is not AQI that is shown on the Xiaomi purifier or on his air quality monitor. Both show PM2.5 measurement. Secondly, the measurement shown on the Xiaomi device is completely accurate. It is a laser particle meter of the same kind as found on actual air quality monitors. The reason for the difference is that the Xiaomi device is placed in the purifier and thus is getting cleaner air while the other device is further away. It's like measuring how cold it is at the AC vent or a few feet away. In addition, the monitor in the device suffers from variations due to the large amount of air being sucked in and pumped out. You can completely rely on the Xiaomi numbers. I have 5 Xioami purifiers and several high quality air quality monitors and I can attest that Xiaomi numbers are correct.

150 is better. Aim is a base model, will take atleast 5 hours to clean air to a satisfactory level(according to coway team). Actually go for a purifier with a washable pre filter and AQI monitor. You can delay the replacement of the filter by cleaning the pre filter regularly.

You forgot about the ion generator feature. In most of the filters it is enabled by default. Should this feature be used as it generates ozone which can be harmful.

Just went down this rabbit hole of a google search of "dark side of air purifiers" and I'd love to know your opinion/future research on the matter. Which said sometimes these "purifiers" tend to actually be bane instead of a boon, due to various factors like ozone production which is a by product of the process of purifying air using electric machines ! And also introducing some electro-magnetic thingie (sorry for the loss of exact words) since these machines operate on electricity.

Mi air purifier performed much better in other comparison videos ( better than sharp and philips ) and also filter cost is half of philips and sharp filter. 2500rs per filter (around 5000rs in an year). Philips and sharp filter costs 4000-5000rs (8000-10000rs per year). Coway is definitely the best as its most efficient and filter lasts longer but the filter cost of coway airmax is around 4500rs. It's better to go for coway airmax aim as its similarly effective as airmax 150. It costs 12000rs (around 8-9k during sale). Filter costs around 3000rs and look wise also its the best.

Any comments on Agaro air purifier? Same price but with additional anion generator and UV filtration

Air Mega Aim is a base model. Takes a lot of time to clean air. Better to buy some other model or some other brand especially where pre filter can be washed and displays AQI

If you have the space and outlets, buy two entry level ones rather than 1 mid level one. They will perform much better. You can place them in different areas so their coverage will be better. If one goes bad, you can still rely on the other one to filter out the room, be it in a longer amount of time. The filters will also last longer since they are almost twice the size of a regular one.

maine 6 days se pure din chala raha hun. Baki sab to sahi hai but agar apko number ka satisfaction chaiye to who nahi dikhega ismei. i was using honeywell i5 touch use proper measurement ate the. ismei bas green red yellow lights hai but powerful hai 3 speed hai auto hai remote hai sleep timer hai aap Shante set kar sake ho remote se i wish remote raat mei glow karta ismei glow in the dark scene nahi hai i am not a technical person i loved the product but isa dura version le lena dabba wala baby ke liye pure time chala raha hun our duster room mei honeywell my sister uses philips and honeywell @@bimla5088
