Last World Cup Morocco became the first African team to reach the semi finals at a World Cup. Which made them the best performing African team in World Cup's rich history. Cote d'Ivore had also a great squad but in 2006 they got Argentina and Netherlands in the Group Stage and in 2010 they had to play Brazil and Portugal.

What an unlucky team with a world class players like Drogba and Toure Brothers. Being in Group of Death isn't an easy task for the Ivorians. They also didn't progress to the KO of the 2014 either, despite being in a group with 2nd-tiered countries like Japan, Greece, and Colombia. They are supposed to face Costa Rica in the Round of 16 instead of Greece if a last minute goal for Euro 2004 champions didn't happened!
Lo de Marruecos sin duda fue la mejor actuación africana en mundiales, no habían recibido goles (salvo el autogol contra Canadá) y fue la Francia de Mbappe quien los elimino, hubiera sido más épico que hubiera ganado el partido por el tercer puesto pero ya llegar hasta semifinales ya es tremendo logro.

@@user-vh7gw5tf2y We all know how South Korea reached the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup through arbitration, the Italy scandal in the round of 16, and the Spain scandal in the quarter-finals.

Even they lost 0-3 to Uruguay, there is seemingly impossible challenge for SA to finish as runners up (just like Russia in 2018, despite losing 0-3 to Uruguay). They need to beat France by 3 clear goals, while Uruguay beat Mexico by 2 clear goals. Unfortunately, they conceded a single goal and only won 2-1, while Uruguay only won 1-0, which means the Mexicans were ahead of SA on goal differences.
I'm assuming it's Morocco, Ghana, Senegal/Cameroun
in terms of races, morocco is more to "caucasian/caucasoid" arab-berber people rather than "african"
