Cate Blanchett actually gave a a GOAT performance. She won all the awards we know from tv (oscars,Golden globes, etc) but also managed to win the trifecta of new york, los angeles and national film critics. It was the actress with the most accolades for one performance in the last decade
Natalie Portman in Black Swan- One of the best acting performances by an actress in a history of cinema 👏

Cate Blanchett not only gave her best Performance in Blue Jasmine but she gave one of the greatest performances of all time in the movie. It was enthralling watching her suffer this breakdown and she did it so wonderfully. Cate should be at the top of anyones list

OH MY GOD I CANNOT BELIEVE THE AUDACITY OF PUTTING BLANCHETT IN 7TH. She has the best performance of the decade, and most frankly one of the best of ALL time. She acted circles around any other best actress winner this decade.

Omggg THANK YOU for perfectly understanding Emma Stone's performance in La La Land. Most people have her last on their lists cuz she's young (which, according to them, means inexperienced) and cuz the movie isnt just abt Mia, they think she's lacking. But they forget how incredible her performance was with EMOTION, her flawless dialogue delivery *AND* singing and dancing. Lyk you said, you can't picture someone else playing that role... That itself is a sign of a great performance. Thank you SO MUCH for this. My favourite list of all... 💯💯💯

I thorughly loved emma from la la land it was a great performance where she added emotion layer and creativity to her multidimensional potrayal of mia haters be damned she was phenomenal and gave one of the greatest performances of the decade and thankfully it was not a biopic coz people think only biopics have good performances but I believe it is more difficult to create a whole new person like emma did in the film than mimicking a real life individual

Natalie Portman is the best actress ever. She is so versatil, and everything she does has a sense of perfection. Her passion and hard work is reflected on screen. She is simply the best.
This was great! You should do this for other decades
How I see it, most of the worst winning performances are amazing performances in a (not bad, but) flawed films. A winning performance is only half of the actor's work the rest is up to the directors, editors, screenwriters and so on
Dude have you even seen cate Blanchett in Blue jasmine? Unlike Natalie Portman( Black swan) or last decades Marion cotillard (la via en rose) or Charlie’s Theron’s( monster) character Cate didn’t have physicality (which does help with the character development) it was pure acting. The way cate conveyed emotions was nothing less than master class acting. Frankly only cate could pull that off. I’d say cate Blanchett’s blue jasmine is greatest performance of all decades.
Natalie Portman foi perfeita em Cisne Negro !
Totally agree with Scarlett Jo giving the better performance than Renee Zelleweger. I never bought Renee as Judy Garland, it was too "dress up" for me. And Natalie Portman's performance is one of my favorites of all time!
I would have put Olivia Colman in first.
Cate Blanchett all the way for me. I hate Woody Allen but I can watch and watch Blue Jasmine over and over again because of how brilliant Cate was. Edit: love Emma Stone but Amy Adams gave the best performance of the year in 2016 for Arrival. She was snubbed and gave a much memorable performance than Emma. But I love La La Land and Emma killed it so I’m okay with Emma winning; I just always have to give Amy her flowers for that one great performance overlooked by the Academy 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Oh my God, I am not the only one who thought Viola Davis's performance in The Help should've won over Meryl Streep's Iron Lady in 2012! 😲 ... Same goes for Emmanuelle Riva over Jennifer Lawrence in 2013 and Rosamund Pike over Julianne Moore in 2016 (who were just not a popular choice for the exclusive Academy). I also love the differentiated manner in which you explain that these are no 'black and white' decisions in which you gotta hate one to vote for the other, but a video of your personal impressions. The only I don't agree with is Emma Stone's La La Land performance being ranked so high, because while the girl was definitely fit for the role, it's clear that you didn't see Isabelle Hupert's Elle (another renowned actress around the globe, but just not American and not in the popular AMPAS club). Other than that, thank you for this well thought-out ranking and especially your #1 choice. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Viola regretted her performance in The Help, It would have been really hard. I love that you used songs from the films. I do agree in some of your inputs.
This is a great list♥️

10. Renee zellweger 9. Jennifer Lawrence 8. Meryl Streep 7. Frances mcdormand 6. Brie Larson 5. Julianne Moore 4. Natalie Portman 3. Emma stone 2. Cate blanchett 1. Olivia Colman
I have just seen 6 of these oscar winner performances, and my ranking is : 6. Emma Stone in La la land 5. Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine 4. Jennifer Lawrence in Silver linings playbook 3. Julian Moore in Still Alice 2. Brie Larson in Room 1. Natalie Portman in Black Swan🦢
My fav actress in leading role till now from 2000-2020 1. Charlize Theron - Monster 2. Hilary Swank - Boys Don't Cry 3. Olivia Colman - The Favourite 4. Natalie Portman - The Black Swan 5. Lupita Nyong'o - 12 Years A Slave 6. Frances McDormand - Three Bilboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri 7. Melissa McCarthy - Can You Ever Forgive Me? 8. Sally Hawkins - Shape Of Water 9. Octavia Spencer - The Help 10. Cate Blanchett - Blue Jasmine
I've seen all these performances except Frances' and Brie's. I would say Natalie had the best peformance of the decade (hands down), followed by Cate. I also think Julianne did pretty excellent too, so I'd put her at no.3. My no.4 is Emma, because her performance was Natural and genuine. My bottom 2 would be Jennifer and Renee. I liked Jessica's performance more than Jennifer's so I wish the former should have won that year. Renee was deserving but was in a weak year for female performances. I don't get why some put Cate's performance in Blue Jasmine in the best of the best. Sure she did phenomenally and was the best that year. But part of it because she is Cate Blanchett more than the performance itself. With that being said, I'd put Natalie's performance in the same prestige with Kathy's, Meryl's and Charlize. Plus it was the most memorable oscar winning performance by a female of 2010s
I loved your video, and I agree completely with your opinion about Olivia colman. I just love that woman haha, she’s perfect.
Thank you for putting Natalie Portman at the top, best performance out of all of these
Meryl should be in top 5. I did not love the movie but she definitely deserved to win that Oscar! My number one is Natalie Portman!
Please make one on 2000s too
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! FOR PUTTING OLIVIA COLMAN UP THERE!!!! LOVE HER IN THE FAVOURITE

Scarlett super over rated for her looks. She looks very masculine. She doesnt deserve to win an Oscare just because she looks very RELATABLE to a common person. All they did was lessen her make up and ask her to be herself.
meryl streep was excellent. i'd prefer to see Jennifer Lawrence & Emma Stone won for their supporting perfomance in American Hustle & The Favourite, respectively. The best leading performances of that years should be Emmanuelle Riva & Viola Davis should win this category instead of supporting in Fences. Olivia Colman also should win for the Father not "stealing" best actress award from Glenn Close
Hello my friend! Know me?
Nice
My list would be : 10 : Jennifer Lawrence for SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK (should have been Jessica Chastain for ZERO DARK THIRTY) 9 : Meryl Streep in THE IRON LADY (should have been Viola Davis for THE HELP) 8 : Renée Zellweger for JUDY (my favourite performance was Lupita Nyong'o for US, and she wasn't even nominated). 7 : Olivia Colman for THE FAVOURITE (I liked her, but I wish Glenn Close won for THE WIFE, she was phenomenal) 6 : Julianne Moore for STILL ALICE (I liked her, but I prefered Rosamund Pike for GONE GIRL) 5 : Emma Stone for LA LA LAND (I loved her, but I wish Amy Adams won for ARRIVAL, for which she wasn't nominated) 4 : Cate Blanchett for BLUE JASMINE (Awesome performance, but I was rooting for Sandra Bullock in GRAVITY) 3 : Brie Larson for ROOM 2 : Natalie Portman for BLACK SWAN 1 : Frances McDormand for THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI
Even viola davis disowned the help
ASHLEY GREENE WOULD WINS 9.99999999999999 OSCAR IN ONE NIGHT!!!! SHE IS AMAZING😍😍😍😍
Chileee not you trying to come for Meryl performance in the post she was outstanding in that role I agree she shouldn’t had won for the Iron Lady that was viola’s oscar, Meryl only won bc she had Harvey Weinstein campaigning for her, it was a biopic and the Oscar’s love those and Meryl was long overdue after her last Oscar win from 29 years ago, I do think she should’ve won more Oscars for adaption, Julia and Julie, doubt, a cry in the dark and silk wood she was also great in august Osage county but cate deserved the Oscar over her for that year Definitely agree with the top 2 Olivia and Natalie … ughh just amazing I can’t even describe it, I would’ve put cate in the top 3 one thing that’s amazing in her performance that it’s a slower burner effect like her condition she’s in and how it effected her and how she details it to anyone she’s around and (apparently to us audiences) you give sympathy for her but then the flashbacks show a complete opposite of what really happened and you’re left in this position of blurring the lines between empathy and sympathy and cate carries you through this line especially after her breakup with a guy she meets in San Francisco and when her step son confronts her about ruining his life Emma stone was really good in La la land acting wise I feel it’s one of her best but I do think in terms of the singing and dancing (as a expert in those two) she was hit and miss I do like her tone and I love her performance of the fools who dream but I feel there were moments her vocal delivery didn’t live up to what was executed for certain numbers and sometimes even let the score/arrangements outdo her (a lovely night for example) and her dancing … I’ll just say she did good for a beginner. One of my favorite youtubers be kind rewind said it best when describing Liza Minnelli performance in cabaret that musicals best showcase the difference between acting and performing and Emma did so in why it’s important to make sure both are executed well bc she didn’t do that best
Me personal picks: 10. Jennifer Lawrence (should’ve been Emmanuel Riva) 9. Emma Stone (should’ve been Isabelle Huppert) 8. Meryl Streep (should’ve been Glenn Close) 7. Renee Zellweger 6. Brie Larson (should’ve been Charlotte Rampling) 5. Julianne Moore 4. Olivia Colman 3. Frances McDormand 2. Natalie Portman 1. Cate Blanchett
I stopped watching when i saw Blanchett on number 7. She’s no.1 of the decade no question. She gave the most tour-de-force and nuanced performance of all the decade winners.
PERIOD. NATALIE in BLACK SWAN IN THE GREATEST ACTING EVER
watch Meryl in August Osage County- she's a lot better in that than The Iron Lady!
Meryl Streep won over viola David in the Help & Michelle Williams in My Week with Marilyn how and Jennifer Lawrence won the Oscar in the right but for the wrong movie bc it was the same year Hunger Games
i think julianne moore is my favorite

Me too. But people usually will not be blown away by subtle and nuanced performance. Most people would prefer someone mechanical like Blanchett where her super showy theatrics was all over the place and constantly reminding the audience that "I AM GIVING A PERFORMANCE HERE, WATCH ME ACT" which is extremely off putting and took me out of the story entirely. Not to mention Blanchett singlehandedly ruined Carol for me.

Cate blanchet at 7??? Are you high???
You can't remember in Judy when she says " you won't forget me will you, will you? Come on this list is garbage and not even well studied
I think they gave it to Meryl because she had lost like 20 times in a row after winning her first 2 in the first 5-6 years of her career (2nd and 4th nominations)- they LOVE bio pics so this seemed to fit for them... if you watch Gillian Anderson's Thatcher in 'The Crown' you'll quickly discover Meryl's isn't even the best Thatcher performance out there!
Yes...Viola Davis for The Help not Meryl. I could not stand Renee as Judy. Unconvincing. Yes, unmemorable.
Number 4 Emma Stone??? LOL and over Isabelle Huppert???? What a joke, and Queen Cate Blanchett in Numbet 7??? Tasteless

imo natalie portman gave a better performance in jackie than emma in la la land and should've won
Im sorry but Emma Stone didnt deserve the Best Actress Oscar. Viola Davis had the best film performance that entire year in Fences and had to do category fraud, because she knew the cards were stacked against her as an overdue older normal looking black woman. She was PEFRDCTLY BRILLIANT in Fences and Emma Stone is not in her league. She should have ran as best Actress and allowed an actual supporting Actress to have won that year.
By you starting off with Streep in last place in what you call a 7 out of 10 performance you lost me. The film is much much better than you characterize it and her performance was brilliant. I didn’t have to watch the rest of your opinion piece because it’s just that, an opinion. Useless in so many levels.
Natalie Portman played a zombie like a zombie in a movie about a zombie...Mila Kunis stole the movie.
Sorry but I don't agree Meryl Streep at number 10.
Yay!!! Natalie is number 1. Fantastic Performance.
Found LaLa boring!!
I’m sorry but Olivia Coleman was a supporting actress in that movie. While it may have been a contender for that category (maybe), it did not deserve a Best Actress Oscar for that film. Glenn Close was robbed.

THANK YOU. In my research, the only actress to win the Oscar in your list that is also a biological female - not a male-to-female transgender person - was Olivia Colman. She was the best actress because she knows what it is to be a real woman, unlike the other actresses who have spent a lifetime pretending to be female. This is not new information ... Marilyn Monroe was a ladyboy ... everyone knows this in the entertainment industry, it is just not talked about openly in the mainstream media. I wonder why? Keep up the good work!

Meryl Streep really deserve a win for Devil Wears Prada. Scarjo is so Crude and ugly, so if she won against Renee, the oscar will be destroyed. Meryl deserved her win for Iron Lady. Viola playing a slave is not very challenging. SANDRA bullock winning is one of the worst win. You like La La Land so your taste is Super Gayer than Gay. I admlre your passionate explanation though.
