I've had the pioneers since they first hit the market (8" 6.5" and 3.5"), i love 8's but their downfall was always the high frequency range so I paired them with 4" or 6.5" coaxials

My man it’s been a long time, nice to see you are active and doing what you love. I’m looking for the loudest and cleanest 6.5” woofer OR midrange i want to mount these at the back seat side panels and i want them to have a strong kick and hit and pickup the grunge from the guitars., voices and treble up front stage, a single sub for back stage and center stage will be the 6.5” woofers/midrange. I also have LOTS mounting depth and thinking of making two enclosure or even a premade pod. There will be 4ch amplification.

nice comparison of two speakers with completely different frequency responses. at first i liked the pioneer sound, but when the tweeks were made and power was added the D4S blew the pioneers away!! also suggestion: can you give a few more specs on these speakers like ohm rating, wattage and speaker efficiency. thanks!

I am looking to upgrade the system on my Harley. I don't want to add speakers to the saddle bags so I'm looking for something with good bass from the 6.5" speakers in the fairing. I also removed the factory mirrors, so I have an area I can dedicate a 2.5"-3" tweeter if needed. I will also put an amp in to match whatever speakers I get. Do you still feel Infinity Kappa are best for something like this, or are there better options now?

D4S sounds like PA speaker or guitar speaker, while there's detail, it has this untamed "shout". An EQ is a must.

The pioneer paired with a smaller midrange then a tweeter might be the best but the D4S is more full and realistic sounding to me.

if i was doing a 2 way front stage the pioneer would definitely be a good one but for a 3way u think the d4s would be really good for the midrange and mayybe the pioneer for midbass

JP have been coming out with great products with better price.I like the way the D4S 6.5 sounds over the pioneer.For my system that is.Others my like the Pioneer for the sound they are going for🤷🏾‍♂️But the price difference is crazy!!!

I bought the DS65 combo with the JP23⁴ & then a JP23 V2. Didn't think much of it. I bought those cheap Piezo tweeters because I used them in the 90s and nothing else came closer as every other tweeter I tried blew at the time and I did not have much to spend then lol. It cost about USD 1 in today's money. Obviously now it's about USD 3 a pair with shipping. I also bought 2 pairs of higher end tweeters from Ali Express that were about USD 15 a pair. I can't hear the difference as I wired them up together. I had a Sony XMN1004 which rated 70w rms x 4 @ 4ohm. I wired 4ohm 100watt resistors and 4.7uF audio capacitors. Everything is run through a DM810 dsp. It's sounds amazing with high resolution audio. I've been out of the audio game for about 15years but I have give these guys credit for making great products. Prior to that I have had 2 sets of Alpine 6.5" co-axials S series direct to the Sony amp. They were real standard sounding and could not handle the power of that Sony amp if I picked up the bass. To be honest they handled the thrashing they were given. As for the tweeter setup. The Piezo tweeters can take more power as the Sony is distorting at high volume. I'm going to drop the resistance to 1.5ohm & 12uf see what happens. Final touch will be the KICKER L7 Prefab 12" x2. Hope it fits otherwise something smaller. Thank you for your videos. They really helped me out. I bought those Alpines because of your rating. They were really good for the price. Thank you for your great work, keep it up. Cheers from Auckland.

D4S sounds like it has a big peak in the 2K to the 4K range. The Pioneer is more neutral. D4S for SPL and the Pioneer for SQ. Like most things you get what you pay for. Yes, I will pay for an established and proven brand which designs and engineers there product rather than an internet one which just resells a generic one. Case in point are amplifiers. A few companies build a common one, and someone's name gets put on it.

I like what your doing here, but some constructive criticism: 1) screw the speakers down so they are secure. You won’t get a true audio experience with them floating around. 2) use a better microphone to record the music. I have a decent setup on my desktop and there is literally no bass. 3) show us some sound sweeps and distortion test charts. It will better help your audience understand what you mean when you say 100Hz vs 80Hz if you can overlay two charts. Room EQ Wizard is a great free tool you can use to make these charts. 4) write down what you want to say about each product before you present. It will help your delivery and this channel will be a great resource. Keep up the good work!

I have a pair of Wolfram 6.5's on one channel on a Wolfram 250.4 @ 2 ohms and they're pretty loud and clear. I also have a pair of Wolfram 8 inch midrange not installed yet but I'm hoping they sound just as good as the 6.5's!

The thumbnail says don't buy but then you say they're good, I don't get it.

How come the so called Pioneer looks exactly like a DS18 speaker?
