Adding to what DCV wrote, I got 9.3 to 9.5 kmpl during my trip from Chandigarh to Manali and back, this includes driving across Solang and using 4H and 4L. It was calculated Tank to Tank and not from the MID. Thar Petrol is a 2000cc / 150 BHP / 300nm@1250-3000rpm. It is amazingly powerful engine and I have driven the same Engine in XUV700 - its super crazy @ 200 BHP.

Hi! This is what I have been telling you brother that the snorkel should always face backwards. Your snorkel on thar is wrongly placed facing front that's why more dust & cold air enters the air filter. Also you need to cover it in extreme cold. You will see big difference if you change its position from front to rear facing. Stay Blessed Always Brother 🙏

SUV to nahn but innova MPV is acchi hai...toyota /nissan/kis provide awd options in their mpv’s in north countries like canada us etc..they should atleast give an option here too that will be cherry on cake. rest i love u content..waiting more of gurkha..videos..chakar yeh ho gaya har koi thar lekr ghum rha to. bore ho gaya ab to main 😬

Thar is best in summers or mild winters . But in extreme winters Gurkha is the beast and the best .. especially on snow ❄️

Vai Petrol Thar has one big problem, it is very dependable on fuel quality. In remote areas you may not get good quality petrol everywhere, there the GDI engine may incur permanent damage for bad fuel quality.

There are few Bloggers on youtube who alwyas drive Gurkha in Himalayas and post videos in their case Gurkha is so dam good in Himalayas. It is the best as compared to Thar in off roading and extreme conditions. baki Petrol Thar ka muqabla Gypsy se karwalo Thar ko Sharam aa jayegi. 😊

Diesel thar owners need antifreeze , then it will also perform good , i check with mountain journeys a group organizing rides in SPITI valleys, they use diesel thar in there convoy but with antifreeze

I used antifreeze diesel which is capable of bearing -40 degrees but I have severe cold start issues in -20 to -30°C ranges of temperature. These small changes are not enough. Its not just about fuel, there are lot more impacted parts in the vehicle.

Sir can you suggest me which one is best off roader, mileage wise, comfortable wise, power wise, space wise...between Thar and Gurkha...? All rounder best ? I'm confused.. please suggest me

Best car for Extreme cold is Thar Petrol, because I have one. I remember that I was in Bhurwa (Small Village between Manali Town and Solang Valley). The temperature during Sunny days across the months of December/Jan and Feb was -3 to -4, early morning it used to be -10 to -12. I saw a Thar Diesel struggling to start but I had no issues at all. While in Solang too, very late evening and having car parked for more than 6 hours, no issues with starting the vehicle.

Bhai kabhi Gypsy se muqabla kar lena in terms of offroading too. Tumhari galatfehmi door ho jayegi jo tumko hai. Thar is good but only for gedi and taur.

@@AmitSingh-cj3lm We are Ex Gypsy Owner for almost 11 years so we know what it can do and what it cannot. Had to sell it due to ride quality and in Chamba, hardly we used to get 9 or 10 back then. The biggest advantage it has is weight. Downside it has is - Open diffs. Plus this video is about Petrol vs Diesel cars and how they perform. Diesel as a fuel become thick as the temp drops and loses its viscosity quickly. Petrol behaves the same at around -40 degrees celcius and below. The paraffin in diesel fuel begins to stiffen, that is why Diesel cars have issues at lower temp and thus the term Cold-Start.

I am not getting above 8.6 kmpl in Thar Petrol Automatic, that too on Highway with Cruise Control @ 80 kmph. So then How Come this Petrol Thar is giving 9 and above, that too on Mountains? Please let us know the Mileage on Tank to Tank Basis. I Calculated this Mileage from Tank to Tank Method when MID showed the mileage of 9.8 kmpl.

How do you have 4G bro? What networks are providing 4G network in Spiti and what areas do you get coverage these days? Been 3 years since my last Spiti Trip !

Part of Pajero Club India and also just bought a new Thar. And Leh/Ladakh for a month. But my work requires me to stay connected with internet. But I can manage trips happily with work :)

Compass doesn't have a transfer case to multiply the torque when needed and it uses first gear as low gear. Its fine for travel and obstacles you encounter but you can't be very adventurous with it.

Want your suggestions for.... I want to buy a offroad car in a budget and use it for 10-12 years for only touring.. Which two were best options...!? I m following you very long time and I just knowing things about car better and better but you change the perspective after every 2-3 months so I m right now so confused... None of the vehicle is a silver bullet. You need to find one which fits your use case. Like if you will do extreme cold travel, Petrol Thar will be better and its very capable too offroad. If you need better ride quality, less things to go wrong and more space, Gurkha can be a good option and it starts well in cold temperatures too. If you won't be in very extreme cold and your main priority is offroad capabilities, diesel Thar is fine. If you need way more space and are ready for expensive parts Vcorss and Hilux are there. If you want an SUV without looking at budget there is Fortuner but it will be tough for anyone to use it like you can do with these under 20 lacs SUVs bcz its very difficult to break these and are cheap to fix.

@@DCVExpeditions True , koi baat nahi bhaiji nayi fortuner hi lelengey , road par 120- 140 aaram sey jayegi aur offering ki capability phele sey zayada hi hai toh no issues . Apke jitni extreme temp toh hamey bar bar karne ka mauka nahi milega isliyeh one in all wahi thik rahegi waise bhi aapne toh dono gadi mila kar 40 lakh toh laga hi diye honge including mods.

@@DCVExpeditions Gurkha will never let you down i promise...As here in upper part of shimla force cruisers or trax are the lifeline for people after hrtc who cannot afford to buy there own vehicles n i have seen the force vehicles perform to the extreme in the worst road conditions where any other 4*4 fails to compete
