Best 24 hours at WHITE SANDS NATIONAL PARK! | Hiking, History and Sand Sledding

What's the best way to spend 24 hours in White Sands National Park?
We're here to find out. From the fascinating geological history that created these incredible gypsum sand dunes that are white as snow, to the history of missile testing at the missile range that surrounds the park, there's so much to learn. Then it's on to hiking the Dune Life Nature Trail where we see many of the park's native plants and one of the 40 endemic moth species! A quick stop at the Interdune Boardwalk and then it's time for sand sledding!
Stick around to the end for some bonus content as we swing through McGinn's Pistachioland, home of the world's largest pistachio, just 20 minutes from the park!

I loved watching this video as I have recently visited White Sands National Park. As usual Luke and Terra found so much more that I did, and gave information that I did not know. It looked like fun sliding down the white powdery sand. You two Rock and I can't wait to see the next video.

I would have never thought to put wax on the sled, I wanna try it! Next time I’m in that region, I’ll also have to stop by pistachio land. Kellah LOVES pistachios.

Definitely wax the sled, and we strongly recommend using the long narrow style sleds as opposed to the cheap plastic discs they sell at the gift shop.

How do the sand dunes compare to the ones by Pismo Beach, CA and by Death Valley, CA? I know you've been to the Pismo Beach sand dunes. I'd ask you to save me a couple of the hatch chili pistachios, but being this is from last February, they're probably long gone. So I'll take your word: how were they on a 10 scale?

We never made it to the dunes section of Pismo. Just drove on the beach for the novelty experience. As for Death Valley, White Sands is completely different. The sand in Death Valley reminds me more of the sand on our beaches here in California, where the white gypsum sand at White Sands is super soft and fine, and obviously white.

    And the pistachios?
