I just brought this projector on Amazon & love it! Best projector i ever had~ before i went with a lot of the cheap projectors from China & dead pixels & finger prints & damage to the lens were very common.

How much did it cost 2 months ago? I was going to buy it this week and it went up in price. :(

The only thing I'd wish to know about this projector is whether or not the overall colour accuracy and contrast ratio was improved from the previous model.... Or is it just the inclusion of DARBEE VISION that makes is NEW?...... or should I just go ahead and get me a BenQ HT2150ST projector which I certainly know ,like unarguably,maxes out more vibrant colours than the standard Optima 1080GT.

I purchased this Optoma Darbee 1080 but the colours weren't very natural and had a tinge of yellow in skin tones to be honest the darbee didnt make any difference to me so I purchased the Benq TH671ST and that blew me away with its natural skin tones and picture quality is absolutely amazing.

I've been reading scary lamp life Experiences from Optoma OEM lamps BURNING OUT AROUND 400 to 600 hours. I was getting ready to purchase this before seeing that. Looks like Benq customers are gettI got 1200 to 4000 hours? Knowing this would you go with the GT1080Darbee, HD29Darbee, or Benq HT3050 ? Thank you for your input! :) Love the videos

I've got one of these and it's absolutely fantastic, but I'll give you all the heads up. I love this thing now that its installed, but installing it was an absolute nightmare. If you are ceiling mounting it, and you are trying to fit the beam onto a wall and you are going wall edge right and left, it is so very difficult to be precise in the instal because there is no zoom. I was there for ages trying to instal it. My head was nipping. I'm not trying to persuade people not to buy it, as I say, I love it. There is no problem if you are table mounting it, or you don't need to be precise about where your left and right beam edges need to be. There is a zoom in the menu but is one stop and not a slider type motion. I hope this makes sense. Any questions please ask away.

I love going to the yodabashi projector room in Akibahara in Tokyo. I think you would like it. Just I hate that they only cover or display the big brand names that is why I always watch your videos for this reason. And again your are down to earth. Also I like the room set up. Snagged one on Amazon based on your review. Was wondering if Darbee is worth the extra cost over the original GT1080. Decided to go ahead and buy the Darbee version for the extra lumens and slightly better contrast.

Casey, Love the vid! I was thinking of upgrading my Optoma GT1080 to the Darbee edition. However, I was looking at finding a short throw projector that could produce a higher refresh rate (like many TV's do) in order to reduce the flicker the GT1080 series has during movies. I found the Optoma EH200ST, which has similar specs (minus the cool Darbee picture processing) with a higher refresh rate. I was wondering if you were looking at doing a review on the Optoma EH200ST. I'd really like your opinion on the higher refresh rate versus the Darbee processing. Thank you for your time! vgv

@@gedimangediman Optoma. Quite decent actually. Although the plastic housing feels cheap and the projector heats up a lot, burning to the touch at the side where the vent is. The image looks good though. Also it is a short throw projector, meaning it has a BIG lens so it can be placed half a meter from the wall and you get a 16:9 image easily.

Hey! Nice review man! A question though; there is the older GT1080 and the newer GT1080e from optoma. Is this darbee based on the older 1080 or the newer 1080e model? I.e. is the gt1080 Darbee better than the 1080e? Or is there also a 1080e Darbee model?

congratulations on going 1080p. watching you on an Optoma HD25e at 110in. That is a serious through distance. I know you can do 100in at 4ft but how much further back can you get and still do 100in?

Then again, the Gt1080 darbee is $670+ While the 142x and hd27 are about $570. Might have to opt out the darbee😕😂.. any suggestions between the 142x and hd27

How does it compare to the non Darbee model is what I want to know. From my experience, I bought both the gt1080 and the ht2150 to compare and it wasn't remotely close. Sent the Optoma back. Even though the Optoma says 3000 lumens, it really only has like 800 lumens of color, so it's bright, but VERY washed out looking compared to the Benq that has 2200 color lumens. Both have essentially the same input lag so gaming kicks ass. Unless Optoma somehow increased the color lumens dramatically I don't see it competing with the Benq.

ChannelTwerp optomo 1080HDR is currently better by just a tiny bit, do a lot of research before you decide on one, make sure you look at the different year models as well

I have a problem man, can you help me? I watch your video reviews on my pico projector and bluetooth speaker. How can I compare the picture quality of the projector you're reviewing and the sound quality of the speaker you're reviewing to my projector and speaker if the picture and sound comes out from my devices?
