    how many miles does a long run include in this scenario? thanks for all the 100 mile knowledge!

    I like to target duration and break the long run into two categories (traditional long run, and ultra long run). Traditional will likely be 2 hr 30 minute - 3 hr, ultra will be anything beyond that, but done more specifically at goal race intensity, which often means slower, and at times walking/hiking breaks as well. These runs can get quite long, but outside of training races, I have rarely done beyond 5 hours, and that is usually only if it is a trail race, versus a flatter road/track style ultra.
