Bespoke Rustic Living Van / Shepherds Hut

20' x 8' rustic living van designed to look as natural as possible while remaining within our customers budget. This one has our usual full kitchen (microwave, fridge / freezer, sink with hot & cold water) plus an oven and two hotplates on the stove. A lovely reclaimed log burner provides warmth, but it is rarely required as the full wagon, walls, floor and roof space, is insulated. The main windows are also double-glazed. The rear of the van houses a full size double bed and the wet room with electric shower. At our customers request, the composting loo is entered off the balcony area, and is a very simple and easy to use system - ideal if you don't have access to a septic tank as in this case. As with all of our wagons on this scale, it is perfectly habitable all year round, though most get used for holiday lets and enjoy a huge return.

Best of all is the beautiful enameled french wood cook stove with two burners and an oven! I was surprised at the mudroom porch. It makes a lot of sense but I'm surprised by anyone giving up space for it. Very clever to put the toilet in the mudroom area - don't have to remove muddy boots to use toilet. Only build I've seen that had a shower that doesn't do double-duty as something else. I loved that! The shower is a shower, period. Well done.
Definitely something you can be proud to have built. It is smashing!

WoW! A DE-lux Shepherd/Gyspy Wagon! I'm AWE-ed and aMAZEd! Sounds like you don't live in the USA. Darn, I can't pay the freight from Great Britain. I will ask my hubby to make me one. Won't be fancy like yours --that cast iron stove is to die for! But Hubby knows how to find used everything and knows when new is better for some things. I'll ask him. : } Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful work! Where do you source the curved corrugated tin from? I plan to build a similar hut (smaller ) on the back of a truck as soon as I sell my current house truck.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if antiques and salvage was your page, or where you'd gotten some of the materials from. I've been showing your huts to my girlfriend who's wanted a "Gypsy Wagon" for years to do some of our local fairs and festivals. Right now we have pipe frame and canvas pavilion tent that will blow over in a stiff breeze, so I'm always looking for ideas for her. You do great work!

Anything you like! Our wagons are bespoke, so its up to you. This one is about 20' x 9' overall with flue etc.
YOU DO NOT LIST IN YOUR COMMENTS THE BRAND OF THE WATER HEATER, YOU DON'T SPEAK THE BRAND NAME, YOU DON'T GIVE A CLOSE-UP WITH THE CAMERA SO I CAN READ THE BRAND NAME, AND YOU NEVER EVEN MENTION WHAT THE SYSTEM RUNS ON, PROPANE, AC CURRENT, SOLAR POWER. I went to your websites (two) and could obtain NO information there either!😡 You certainly do not help those of us whom are in the planning and information gathering phase of their tiny build!😝
