    I realy do love watching the cloth choices videos: I aspire to acquire a coat or suit, one day, with a cloth with such interset and tactile deight (Fox Brothers or otherwise); but I'm afraid I'm not a man of means at his disposal.....maybe one day. Thank you for showcasing beautiful fabrics. Tony

    Hello Mr. Mahon, we appreciate your videos and discussion. The Fox Brothers' Fox Tweed II (minute 5.0) is beautiful. What colors of pants and shirt would go along with that?

    Thanks to the magnifying glass, I can see the texture of the cloths more minutely. When I was young, I tended to choose unique cloths or ones others didn't wear. But the older I get, the more I go for ones that look ordinary but have good quality. Now I can understand what the maestro intends to say about the cloths.

    Sorry Sir its been a particularly busy trip for us this year and almost all appointments were gone after our first mailing list announcement. We have considered adding another city to our schedule but given Mr Mahons still young family we can't extend it further at the moment. It may be worth as some others suggest, putting together a petition of people together who would consider ordering from Redmayne and getting in touch with the office at hello@redmayne1860.com to see if a little added persuasion might help?

    Maybe a bench magnifier would be a good idea: it could provide a big lens and an LED ring light while leaving both hands free. It might be tricky to find one with an arm which is big enough for tailoring work though.

    My Mother would knit items. Occasionally she would run out of yarn when working on a piece and ask me to go to the store and try to find yarn of the same color and lot number. Matching different lot numbers was always “hit or miss.”

    Thanks for watching and such a great question. We have to change to a special set of trimmings for white garments. They look fantastic but do slightly drive the tailors mad as they have to go to great lengths to make sure everything matches and doesn't show through. Keep the questions coming!

    Such a fun video - thank you. I would love to know with the ivory 140s from Holland & Cherry, when cutting, do you still use chalk for the pattern? How do you still see your lines?

  • @savilerowtales

    @savilerowtales

    2 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the question and for watching Sir. We do still use chalk as much as possible when it comes to the white or cream cloths. There are yellow and blue chalks also available, but it will depend on each cutter as to their preference. As long as doesn't leave a lasting trace on the cloth.

    Perhaps Sir, but as Mr Mahon is fond of reminding me on a regular basis he has no clothes that truly fit him 😉 We work hard to make sure that he is dressed suitably, but our priority is always our customers garments. They do a lot of the talking for us. Our most recent Instagram of the gentleman wearing a checked Fox coat is a fair example.
