I support a great deal of Bernie's policies, but we live in a democracy--we measure political success by the ability to get things done--and talk is cheap. Getting things done means building coalitions and building support. Bernie is genuine, moral, and devoted, but what is there to show for it? It's unfortunately little. I think we will probably remember Senators like John McCain because of how consequential their actions were.
