It's hard to fully trust Curt Schilling's statement regarding red sox players not taking steroids during his tenure there. Unless I'm incorrect, Nomar Garciaparra, Trot Nixon, Manny ramirez and David Ortiz tested positive for PED the same time Schilling was playing for Boston.

That test that Ortiz tested positive in (and Nomar, Trot, and Manny were rumored to be on as well) was in 2003. Schilling didn't play for the Red Sox until 2004 when rules were instituted.

No 2020 HOF class. Imagine that.

I’m a baseball fan to but I don’t think this is the most important thing that our government should be involved in

People talk about Randy Johnson's 1989 Fleer card that had a Marlboro ad blacked out in the background, but he 1985 McGwire rookie had one in plain sight and it was never mentioned. As to steroids, the people that made the laws hadn't used steroids and banned them against the advice of the AMA to leave it to doctors to decide their use so they could monitor even cosmetic use. Ancient Olympians ate bull testicles for strength, Pud Galvin injected bull testicle extract, in the 60s players were on speed in baseball (a brand nicknamed greenies was popular, not to be confused with dog treats.) Other sports like golf, bodybuilding, football all quietly have steroid use. Lance Armstrong was treated worse by the media for steroid/EPO use than Oscar Pistorious was for killing his beautiful wife. If Bernie Sanders had used steroids, maybe he would have stood up to Hillary and called out crooked CA primary actions, or stood up to Biden and called out crooked primary actions as soon as Covid pushed primaries to mail-in.

Testosterone replacement therapy is very beneficial but I’m not a doctor so I don’t know the difference between that & “steroids”, but it seems weird to preach about the dangers of something that seemed to enhance athletic ability.
