Bernardo Silva was always pure class but our manager at the time wanted him to play at Left Back. Every Benfica fan that watched Benfica B, knew he was pure gold.

I’m a Liverpool and Barca fan but it’s such a joy watching this guy play.

Great video, I'm a big fan of Benfica and Bernardo Silva. I don't know how he isn't in the top 5 for best footballer this year... He won 5 titles last season and played amazingly.

Speaking of a huge jump, Matteo Guendouzi coming from Lorient in Ligue 2 to Arsenal. He was bought as one for the future but went right into the first team and made his 50th appearance for the club against Burnley at the very start of his second season

Can't believe FIFA ditched him in top 10 list.

I have been a real fan of Bernardo Silva with his level of play last season under Pep. I truly believe Pep knows how to get the best out of players and Silva was no different. Class act he is, on and off the pitch. What really caught my eye was when he appeared on COPA90's 5 Shot Challenge with Vuj and Poet last season. At the end of the interview, Vuj asked when Bernando scores his next goal he would jump toward the camera with his thumb up saying "Have A Nice". And he came through in his next game scoring. It went viral. He was a man of his word. Another well-researched player bio video mate!

City v United Blue v Red Etihad v Trafford The Manchester Derby Probably my favourite time in the league. After international break next week. We see the first Manchester Derby of the season and I’m totally hyped. I even have my 2012 Kompany kit on hand for the match.

Yeah, Jorge Jesus is not known to invest all that much in the young portuguese talent at his disposal. When he started at Benfica, and then at Sporting too, it was a buying spree even when there were options in the club to invest on and develop. Also his notorious hard-on for tall strong players leaves some of that young talent out of the race from the get go. It's unbelievable how Bernardo had no chance with Benfica. Thankfully, after Jesus, Vitoria and Lage did believe in the players coming through the ranks. And you can see it now, again, as Jesus comes back to Benfica, a new buying frenzy. Hope those kids at Benfica are smart enough, as Bernardo was, to look for clubs that will give them the play time they need.

Jorge Jesus had a problem with investing in the youth team back then but he used some of the players from the B team. The problem was that in that season the wingers were of an exceptional quality. We even reached the europa league final that year

On any given day the best player on City could be KDB, Aguero, Sterling, Silva, Jesus, Walker, etc. Personally, I like Silva the most. He just makes me laugh sometimes. He says you cant compare him to Messi’s genius but we’ve all seen what he can do, such as his header against Cardiff, pure genius. Had no idea about his early struggles at Benfica and his conversation with Chalana. Thanks again for another fantastic video. Best content in the soccer/football community.

Former Benfica manager Jorge Jesus didn't give him much opportunities, because he had a very good football team at the time, but I think everyone knew that Bernardo was going to become a great player. It was just a matter of time until he could find his place on the main team. Benfica wanted him to gain more experience and decided to loan him. But the idea was to get him back, I think. Not sure why they sold him for 15 million...Maybe this was specified in the loan contract or maybe Benfica needed the money...either way...very stupid to sell such talented and young player. He says he wants to return one day though...
