But after that, it does make sense, assuming they both win. You're making my point for me. It took how many years for him to get to Spence, only to embarrass him? Anyone else at 147 to outclass? Who ran from Bud (and Tszyu) at 154 with all the belts to fight Canelo, like THAT fight made more sense? Seeking greatness means assuming bigger challenges until you find your ceiling, like Canelo did against Bivol. BUD IS STILL LOOKING. Now that he's beaten Spence, name a fight that makes more sense for him, after the 154 undisputed fight? Canelo fans cringe at the thought of him being beaten by Bud, like the entire PBC stable fanboys now have to face. Bud was ALWAYS better than any of them, 147, 154 or 160. Higher stakes at 168 with a bigger name than Spence. More potential butt hurt.

@@blockTay This isn't a time when there are real 147 greats. Beyond Boots, who else do you seriously want to see Bud smash at 147? Stanionis? Bud is a few years behind Manny, Floyd and Oscar, among others. Tbh, Bud has been waiting for so long to get past Spence, I understand his wanting more. Canelo can ignore Benavidez for how long and it's okay? I don't see a 147 that is more pressing that going up and looking for greatness, be it 154 or 168 (if GGG was still GGG, Bud would fight him at 160, I have no doubt about that). Boots hasn't fought anyone, there are many names for him to fight before Bud, but if Bud's staying at 147, then okay. Remember, Bud was only a one belt champ because the PBC boys knew how it would go long before it went down. Canelo has been moving around divisions for years. Bud is trying to climb a ladder. Boots ONLY makes sense for Bud if both the Charlo/Tszyu winner and Canelo avoid him. Your 1st choice for him is his 3rd choice, and he earned the right to choose.

You answered your own question. All those guys started at lower weight classes in their early 20's and as their body matured they started to move up. Crawford and Charlo are in their mid 30's. They have already grown into their body. It took Canelo 10 years to grow into his. Furthermore, they moved up one at a time. Nobody has ever moved up 3 weight classes and fought the champion. Crawford needs to prove he can move up one weight class and win first. In fact, Crawford said everything I'm saying onion his first interview after the fight. If he beats the Charlo-Tszyu winner at 154, and then fights Canelo at 168 for 4 weight undisputed? Bud wants legacy, most people don't think historically. He wants to find out how good he really is. Nobody has shown him his limitations yet. And this is key to me: Floyd ran from prime 2008-2010 Manny, Roy Jones ran from Bernard, who has Bud run from? By 40 pro fights, most guys have a few questionable decision wins on their resume, including Floyd. Bud doesn't.

@@ThatGuy-du3sqNo way. Props to Canelo for going after Kovalev and Bivol. But who else is there for him to fight at 175? He should have to go through Beterbiev to get the Bivol rematch, and that would be a bad idea, but I would still love to see that fight. A Benavidez win clears out 168 (or the Benavidez/Andrade winner). If Canelo stays at 168 and Bud comes up with 2 or 3 weight undisputed, it would look bad to run from him. So many of these arguments are based on, I think, the fact that fans forget that competition in different eras and weight classes is different. Ideally, after handling mandatories in a division, a champion can choose their opponent. Someone coming up from undisputed means they did their duty to their division by facing everyone who would fight them. Bud waited how long for the Spence fight? Benavidez is till waiting for Canelo. Look, Canelo has losses, and was gifted a few questionable decisions. Bud is still looking for a challenge, no dubious decision victories and nobody who he avoided in any way. Boots has to face quality first if Bud's staying at 147. To equate the two is not the same, Canelo has jumped around weights to pick fights, not all cherry picks. Bud has cleared out 2 divisions, and it took longer than he would have liked to get to Spence. Charlo ran from Tszyu and him to the Canelo payday. Not the same.

He claimed he'd rather move up for Charlo or Canelo but just said he won't fight Charlo either because he lost which makes no sense considering he's still unified champ at 154. In reality Bud is probably more worried that it'll be a bad look if he has problems with Charlo after Canelo shut him down. Meanwhile he hasn't mentioned anything about moving up to face Canelo since. Bud previously clout chased and backed tracked on Canelo at 160 and likely only mentioned him recently because he was hoping he'd look like he was on the way out vs Charlo but dominated that fight itself. Bottomline, Bud doesn't make big moves like that. He spent the 5 years prior to Spence without facing a champ and after the win has mostly talked about fights he won't take, Boots, Thurman, Garcia and now Charlo.

Crawford making him move up for Canelo is not what a real boxing fan wants to see. The casual fan doesn't care about the wellbeing of the fighters.

Why all of a sudden everybody wants to fight the great Canelo?! Bud Crawford is not on Canelo's level.Canelo via liver shot knockout or stoppage.

Id rather see crawford v benavidez and have the winner fight canelo. Regardless both getting kod. Bivol rematch is what i want.

Canelo is pretty much the Mike Tyson of the Super Middleweight division. He's short for that division but his frame is stocky and packs very good power.

Yall ALL know what it is.. and why. Crawford will pull off something everyone fears the most if Canelo is allowed to share that ring with him.

Wait a minute.....Canelo just recently said he would come down to 160 to fight Errol Spence, but you mean to tell me that he won't fight Crawford at 160? 😂😂😂!! I would much rather watch a Canelo vs Crawford at 160 than a Crawford vs Benavidez at 168. I think the boxing world agrees with me. But the reason we probably won't see a Crawford vs Canelo is because Canelo knows that Crawford would beat him at 160lbs.
