Hey Rob! Since you tried this Brazilian instrument and had fun with it I think there's another instrument from our country you may love!! It's called VIOLA CAIPIRA. It's kind of a 10 string acoustic guitar with a very particular sounding and interesting tunings and is very popular here in Brazil. that's awesome! like it! but you forgot to use the little stone that comes with it, i think it would have added another cool sound . Hopefully brazilians and capoeiristas will approve this.
I walk along in the woods and I come across a strange man beating a colorful stick, with one string on it, with another stick. I let him be, as it appears as though he is mentally deranged.
I think Max would be proud.
Reminds me of the album Roots by Sepultura (Attitude and Ratamahatta) lots of cool instruments used on that album

Hey Rob, Congrats on the great story in this weeks reader! I guess your no longer Chicago's lil' secret-
Please do a jam with this thing! I can't imagine how you use berimbaus like they are supposed to be used

This is actually really cool, I can't say I've heard anything quite like it. I love those deep, distorted sounds you're creating!

Thanks! Definitely the most dubstep sounding of any instrument I've ever played. What your hearing on the track is a berimbau on the left, one on the right, and then just the left berimbau track's notes brought into the middle and distorted for a bass-like track. Here's a version of the video without the distorted track or drums. Just Berimbau: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gJ53s7KBo5DFobA.html

Saw that one first! The drums definitely add flavor, but the berimbau is surprisingly heavy even without them. Well performed and produced, thanks for sharing!
this is so relaxing
