Bergen- Norway: What can you do for a weekend in Bergen with kids?! Vlog#19

Follow along to see what can be done in a weekend in Bergen. We barely scratched the surface, but kept the kids busy. I’d love to go back and see more of the museums.

I've heard foreigners reference Oslo as the biggest little city you will ever visit. I think Bergen is the biggest village you will ever visit. Its so big, but still so quaint, so modern, but still so old. I don't live there, but i love it. Thanks for the walk down memory lain :)

I can't believe you missed the Trekroneren (Three crowns) hotdog stand! The next time you visit you MUST try it! They might just have the best hotdogs in the world. The best I've tried at least. They have everything from reindeer hotdogs with lingonberry to chilidogs and currywurst. And these are not your regular sized hotdogs. We're talking 150 and 250 grams per hotdog. Much love from Bergen!

@@heatherabroad When you come from Bryggen continue straight ahead past the fancy McDonalds. The street is called Kong Oscars Gate. It's a tiny kiosk that's been there for like 50 years or something. It'll be on your right hand side.

If you're hiking and taking videos, I would suggest a small drone with camera. I don't think they cost too much, and the videos you get with it along the western coast of Norway will be spectacular. Like when you went to Prekestolen. I like your videos, it's kind of fun following an American's first experience in Norway. And when it comes to Norway compared to other European countries, the amendeties are probably more or less the same, except, maybe, for rural areas in Eastern Europe.

What about the drone laws? I’m considering a small drone (less than 250g) and the rules still say to keep it 500m from a person, house etc which seems not doabl

The fishmarket is insanely expensive ... just so you know, it does NOT reflect the true cost of fish in Norway. I live up north (almost as north as you can come on mainland) we have fisheries here and prices are so much lower, even on like the King Crab ... we can btw catch them here ourself if needed, we are allowed to catch a set amount of them for personal use. But that said... the fishmarket is good to see what kind of eatable fish we have around in Norway.

Yes we figured, with all the tourist around. Alaska was similar. We would never buy salmon or halibut at a restaurant because we could catch it for much cheaper.
