I take my hat off to the families involved , it cannot be easy farming in such terrain I admire the family commitment to the lifestyle it must give them a truly good quality of living. I cannot believe the quality of the soil on the slopes it produces a very high grade grass crop in Scotland such land would be rubbish. The buildings are of exceptional quality well planned and constructed to maximise use. I can also tell the high quality of the cattle they are thriving and producing high quality offspring Excellent video.

This is interesting demonstration of dairy farming. Reminds me of the Amish in America. Appears there is a lot of clover in this hay. Making hay for cattle on such a steep slope is amazing. I can't see a way to grow alfalfa or oats in these mountains. Number one dairy alfalfa, third cut, is the desired cattle food in the USA. Bales of 1,800-lbs (817kg) are the typical sized bales of alfalfa for dairy farmers. There is a milking dairy in Minnesota that has 5,600 Holstein cows. Jersey cows have more milk fat though. Jersey cow milk is best for ice cream and butter. Holstein cows produce milk volume. Best for drinking milk. But this family has an idyllic lifestyle. What a great working vacation this could be for somebody. Does anyone know the breed of dairy cows used on this farm?

I do not know if you can read English but I have to say it is hard to see how your family can keep up with all the work you have to do just to take care of the animals, cutting and hauling hay for the cows and cutting and splitting all the wood you have for winter.

mi sembra di vedere..la famiglia di mia madre..:- nonni,..zii, zie..tutti al lavoro nei campi,..con la falce e il rastrello....voltare il fieno...il cui profumo ti avvolgeva ..in un profumo denso dei fiori di prato e di erbe..magiche salutari...IL..lavoro di contadino campagna,..e di montagna,..non sono mai riconosciuti abbastanza...e pensare che è il lavoro più bello che esiste....
