Bought a 680 new over 40 years ago, still got it, used for game and clays, faultless. We reckon over 100k shells, still tight in the action. The DT 10 I had was a bit special too, gone but not forgotten. Beretta, boringly brilliant.

Recently bought 2 S/H Beretta's, both mid 1980's , very little use and in great condition. One is a 686 special o/u and the other is a 626E sbs and both 20 bore. Lovely guns and don't think I will be selling them anytime soon.Didn't realise the 686 was re-named the Silver Pigeon in the 1990's. Everyday is a school day.

1 to note, Your Views on the SV10 Perennia and prevail range as they were that step in evolution that lead to the 690 range. I’d call it beretta’s version of the lost link. 👍🏻

Same here... have the 690 Sporting, and it shoots absolutely lights out. And you guys are spot on about Beretta's choice of furniture... for a $2700 gun, it is pretty boring. But, it fits me like a glove and I love it. And Great videos, guys... You definitely have a much deeper shotgun "culture" than we do across the pond, and I love getting your opinions & hearing your views. Keep up the great work!

So im getting the pigeon all fitted up to me and i am hoping it will be the last gun i have to buy !! I was considering going another cheaper branded gun but then decided no i want a beretta !!! I love the look of them as well !! Nice without being stupid !!! I love the look of a good older looking gun that just gets the job done without any fuss !! Anyhow thats my thoughts !!

Like just about everyone else, as you said, I have one, too. But when I go into the field, I reach for one of the SXS's. I'd probably make an exception for a 20 or 28 ga. O/U, but I don't own one. Otherwise they are just too bulky for my taste. The SXS just feels right...more appropriate. You didn't show one but Beretta does still make them, don't they?

@@stephenizzy1 when you take clay shooting seriously you'll see why those guns cost a lot. Same if you're hunting and you want a beautiful and quality gun that you can use for the rest of your life and pass on to who comes after you. This is no cheap walmart pump action shotgun. People that own luxury items, whether it's a watch, a gun, or anything else are happy with their purchase. The small dick thing is just an excuse for those that can't afford to spend the money they'd like on things, and it actually shows an obsession towards other mens' genitals which is quite curious ;)

I've always liked the Beretta shotguns, but as a company I've been losing respect for them. It's my understanding that some of the Sako 85 rifles suffer from ejection problems, and Beretta has been refusing to make the situation right with their customers.

Worth doing, and you will never regret having the softness that comes with perazzi because the shootabilty is top notch, and made to your own personal balance, size and pattern makes for something truly special.

686 with a blindfold and you can’t tell the difference against a $5,000 gun. But yup, dull probably because of their middle of the road perfection. Buy one and have a stock made to fit you and you’ll have a $5,000-$8,000 gun for $4,000 at most unless you go crazy with your wood.

I think you hit the really important point....FIT. My belief is that that vast majority of shooters don't even realize that their guns fit them poorly...sometimes very poorly. I see them contort themselves over stocks that are too short and too straight. Before they buy a new gun they should try shouldering something from early in the last century when even non-bespoke guns were provided with stocks that had more drop at heel and comb.

I have a really cheap shoulder and many shotguns fit me very to exceptionally well. Rifles however are a different matter. I prefer a double Monte Carlo in left hand action with a right hand comb so often as not a well fit rifle stock costs as much or more then the rifle. ☹️
