Benzo Titration Update / The Dehumanization of Psychiatric Medicine and Benzo Withdrawal

After conversations with others it has become so very clear how much we lose ourselves through this process. We question ourselves, because who are we to know what we are going through our Doctors and Therapist know better, but most of all we give into our learned societal beliefs of what it is to be a Man or a Woman, my purpose of this rant is that of mostly men and how we negate ourselves to fit into the box emotionally, spiritually, and physically, that we have allowed our culture, parents, and the like to dictate who we are. We need to get back to our true authentic selves as we heal. Love to you all!

    That is how I did 5mg of my Valium, so see how it goes. How long have you been off of paxil? That may be a big reason you are having trouble. When I got off of SSRI "zoloft" I crashed, so I had to wait to be able to taper off of benzo. I had a good day yesterday, today well we will just say would love to be better :)

    Tell him it is in my head an everywhere in my body that has GABA receptors. They have all been down regulated, and they need to heal as you come off the Benzo's. Have him watch the documentary on my site, or if he will not take that much time, watch the short video which I have in the same playlist esp. the end as it explains very well what is happening, even if you are just holding at a dose.... "tolerance withdrawal"

    I agree. It is in your head but not in the manner in which he thinks it is, as in " mind over matter " type control. Until the upregulation of receptors or neurotransmitter levels are functioning at normal levels or whatever it is that happening I don't see anything but time and patience. It's a chemical terror that can't be explained to anyone that either hasn't gone through it or is going through it. I just have to believe in those before us, Matt Samet, Baylissa Frederick, Anthony Kallis, Sonja (czechitout) and many others that recovery is the inevitable outcome in all this bullshit. Keep pushing!

    They say trying to explain these things is like trying to describe a color to someone, I guess the reason, i don't understand why people are like this is because I live with the "color". I am sorry, but you have us and a huge community around the world that will continue to be an advocate for each other until we get this "color" described and addressed! Love and Light my friend! Remember you are healing!

    Hi Matt- I am really interested in the website that you mentioned and I really hope you do a video on this gentleman. I'm glad to hear you are trying liquid titrating part of your dosage and I hope it helps ease you off of the benzo a bit more smoothly. Although I am a female I value what you had to say about men expressing their emotions and how society makes it hard for men to do that. I think it's very sad and unhealthy for anyone not to be able to express their emotions.

    Nice to hear from you again Kat! I hope I did not come across as not validating what women go through, I just did not want to speak to something that I don't completely understand as I am not a woman ( That seems strange to type or say ) lol . I don't think it matters as I think we go through the same things, but again I just wanted to say what I think needs said, but only really got out half of what I wanted to, but I am still leaning to do this so I'll get better with time. I will for sure do the video on Don and his site. It is older, but he is still doing it and started it when he was healed which I think makes a huge difference! Love, Light, and Healing to you! :)

Yes, Don does incredible work and I love his website. Very encouraging! No worries about not being validating to women. I completely understand and you are , of course, a man so you would be giving your perspective as such. Keep on making videos and just being yourself. Take care. Kat

    You can also see my video called Water Titration Spreadsheet / Walk Through This is where I was water titrating a 5mg pill, and was taking the rest as a pill. So you might use that spreadsheet and get rid of 5mg at a time, or you can try to do all 15, but you may be a little high right now depending on how quickly you think you can come off. Talk to your doctor, and maybe they will work with you to get 2mg pills, I think that would be better, as when I was doing this video, I was still in the 30's so getting rid of one of my 5mg tables was ok at that time, for me. Let me know how I can help!

    What do you think about taking L theanine doing taping off benzo

  • @learningtoletgo5147

    @learningtoletgo5147

    5 жыл бұрын

    I like L theanine very much. For me it helps throughout the day. It is my understanding that it can bind to GABA receptor sites, and help calm them, but I have no proof of that, but I know it helps me. I take 400mg just at night, but that is not what is recommended on the label, so I am not telling you what or how to take it. I had a holistic doctor tell me that he took 1000mg at night for sleep. So I take more than is recommended on the bottle, but I am under the care of a holistic doctor, so please don't take this as advice, just an answer to you question of how much I take. GABA is also very good, at least for me. They say it does not cross the blood brain barrier, but I have read that is does cross in other ways, I just know that for me it has also helped with symptoms. Please ask your doctor what is safe for you. Hope you are doing well! -Matt

  • @learningtoletgo5147

    Currently Valium is the last of the medications that I am on. I do use CBD oil, and other supplements to help with the withdrawal, but those have come through my holistic doctor mostly. Zoloft was the last medication I got off of, but that has been about 2 years now, and it was hell too. Historically I have been on multiple SSRI's, mood stabilizers, and antipsychotics i don't remember all the names, remember I have been doing this for 30 years. Does that help?

  • @learningtoletgo5147

    @learningtoletgo5147

    Not unlike coming off of Benzo's in some ways, but i will say, (for me) it seemed easier overall, but I was also on my benzo, I was slowly tapering that, but not really paying attention just a small reduction now and then, and I may have gone up when things got hard, I don't remember. Brain Zaps that you hear about where big for me, headaches, and ocular migraines, I may have had some of those with the benzo, but it has been awhile, so I attribute those to the Zoloft. I was NOT home-bound, my anxiety was extreme at times, but not like what I have experienced with coming off of the Klonopin, now Valium. The fatigue was far less, but the mental grinding and fog seemed worse, but maybe not, keep in mind this was 2 years ago, and when I got done I crashed, which is what made me decided out of desperation to try a holistic doctor, even though I thought what they did was nuts. But I went along with it, like the 5 HTP for raising my serotonin, and healing my gut also for overall health and allowing the neurotransmitters to be made in the gut as I now know that @ 90% of serotonin is made in our gut for example. I also cleaned up my diet. For example we went gluten free, and try to only eat meals with few ingredients ( no processed stuff ) and organic as much as possible. This really did help! Having said all that, this is only my experience your miles may very, and you should consult with your doctor, or health care provider. Also, that does not mean that this is a cake walk! Far from it, I am just trying to give my body everything it needs to help me heal, and I still have things I want to change and implement, like much more greens and plant based proteins. I know you did not ask for that but here ya go :)
