    The cost of a new crankshaft made replacement cost effective and it is peace of mind for the new owner. This should help you to get a good price when the time comes to sell. Looking forward to the next part of this repair.

    Trying to do a catch up on your videos as I am well behind, that shaft was well bent on that Briggs and Stratton engine. If you get a new honda GCVx engine in with this issue which is the brand new Honda GCVx engine they are now fitting to most new mowers the crankshaft is alot easier to remove the compared to the old GCV engine and you don't even need to remove the engine off the deck. Honda have designed the new engine like a two stroke engine so sections can be removed and replaced easily.

    Im digging the lift set up. Ive got a 6 1/4 with a badly bent shaft. Never done that in my life or sheared a pin till i hit 51 years of age. It instantly turned into a tiller. Some ass clown put cross ties in for a makeshift flower bed and secured them with re bar but didnt bother to drive the rods down flush with the wood. I turned to continue cutting in the opposite direction and clipped the 2" tall 3/4" diameter rebar and thats all she wrote. Why didnt the key shear or the hub break? From what i understand the hub breaking off is the new shear key safety device. Curious how much is a new shaft? 38.00 you just answered my ? Thanks

    Had something similar on a Stihl MS180 chainsaw and turned out to be the tank breather blocked. Once tank had pressure kept feeding fuel into the carb-cylinder-exhaust-air box. Maybe as a start Check your tank breather is working. This may be through the cap or have a separate breather tube out of the tank depending on the strimmer you have.

    Some lawn mower dealers or spares providers can help as long as you quote the serial numbers, usually the F0 number is the one that works. Just be warned the old Qualcast mowers that were built by Bosch are starting to have shortages in parts now as Bosch don't supply the parts anymore. Allett mowers now sell the old Qualcast bosch design cylinder mowers but some parts have been changed in design so they might not be compatible with the old mowers. The new Qualcast mowers are not related to Qualcast at all as they are a Chinese mower with Qualcast stamped on them.

  • @ZippoVarga

    @ZippoVarga

    4 жыл бұрын

    Phil, with the blade turning in excess of 3,000rpm, contact with just about anything solid will cause this. A root, a stone or some other unseen obstacle. The blade hits, then glances off the obstruction often bending the shaft and blade in the process. Simple diagnosis is, the mower starts vibrating badly. Most crank shafts can be straitened and blades replaced, but sometimes, a crank replacement is needed. Cheers! Zip~
