BENGOH DAM & KAMPUNG STING | Waterfalls & Family
I spent the day at the Bengoh Dam area with my parents. It had been a long time since I had gone out to the jungle so we had a lot of fun! The Bengoh Dam is located some 90 minutes from Kuching. From the dam, you can take a boat to the waterfalls, which were stunning!
We also visited Kampung Sting, a small village on top of a mountain. This village is locally called The Village in the Clouds. In the morning, you have some of the best views in all of Sarawak from this village.

I have lived in Kuching for over 27 years, never heard of the kampung. There are so many beautiful uncharted places in Sarawak. Would definitely visit this place when I return. So beautiful and thank you for this great video !

It's a newly discovered area. People have lived there for many decades but they have only started receiving visitors for about 5 years. It's a wonderful area!
I've visited the area before the dam was built. The bidayuh here were known for their hanging bamboo bridges that were 3-4 stories high but I think all these (and the villages) are underwater now. They really do have beautiful waterfalls here, and your video make me want to visit again! Btw Bengoh Dam was built to secure the water supply for Kuching, not a hydroelectric dam, if not mistaken.

i think Bengoh dam is only for water & not electricity.. it was source of water for Kuching area. view from Villages in the sky look awesome. But during construction of the dam, many houses and village have to rellocate to this new villages. Thanks the people there, they loss their original home, and we got our water.
