Legong Jobog is a classical Legong piece with its story taken from the Hindu epic Ramayana, where the brothers Subali and Sugriwa were squabbling over a magical box Cupu Manik Astagina that belonged to their mother, then they both plunged into a cursed lake to surface as monkeys, and they fought ferociously without recognising one another. The moral of the story is for one to be able to overcome greed and contain their anger.
