Bengaluru’s Famous But Hidden CHANDRAPPA HOTEL! 46 Years Of Non Vegetarian Tradition! Must Try!

chandrappa hotel, mathikere, old but unknown eatery, north bengaluru, military hotel, non vegetarian eatery, mutton chops, mutton curry, brain pepper fry, pork pepper fry, pork garlic dry, mutton biryani, rasam, akki roti, ragi mudde, guntur chicken, local cuisine, chandrappa hotel mathikere, bangalore food tour, bengaluru food, must try dishes, popular restaurant, gourmet on the road, kripal amanna, food lovers tv, food lovers india, truth in food, support small business
When Mr. Chandrappa moved to Mathikere, then a remote corner of Bengaluru nearly half a century ago, he set up a vegetarian eatery to cater to the local populace. This met with limited success, however things clicked when he added in the non vegetarian dishes that he and his wife would cook at home. Eventually, his sons joined in to support this family enterprise that in a span of 46 years has come to be the de facto eatery for naati (local style) non-vegetarian oota in the area. However, there are still many outside the immediate area who are yet to discover the homely taste of the fare here. I was one of them, until I paid a surprise visit one afternoon. In doing so, I caught up with the second and third generation of Chandrappa’s family and also his culinary legacy in a smorgasbord of meaty dishes.
Hope you enjoy this one. Take care; stay safe and strong. Happy eating!

Kripal Sir, before tasting Guntur chicken, you said they might have used Byadgi mensenkai in it. Why didnt you say "Guntur" mensenkai instead.? I would hv thought that a Guntur labelled output will use a Guntur input

Because of the colour of the dish, Guntur gives high heat, byadagi gives colour and medium heat.

Kripal you are wrong about Pork ..both the Vokkaliga and Kodava community relish pork in Karnataka …Yeshwanthpur and Hennur are the hubs for Miltry Hotel Pork in Bengaluru …it’s also colloquially called “ pig mutton”….you can have a good time in North Bengaluru with pork
@nikhilakr3729

Not the whole of vokkaliga community across the state.. only those of certain regions like north Bangalore.

My reference in the video was to the few number of eateries that serve pork. Not to its consumption, which in itself is lesser than other meats.

SECOND TIME 1ST COMMENT
Lol that's not biryani ,they need to call it as a pulao all the southern states and Bangalore think biryani is nothing but put pieces along with any type of rice and they don't even how to make a proper pulao or biryani , the biryani is in Hyderabad and Lucknow delhi
@godfather911mafia
5 күн бұрын
Whatever you want to call it, it’s delicious. Mutton pulao in Karnataka is made specifically with Seeraga samba rice and not just any type of rice. Hyderabad biryani has become too mainstream now, explains why places like paradise biryanis went under loss and shut down in Bangalore. North Indian biryani is not spicy and it has raisins and potatoes which is unappealing to South Indians
Is that mutton brain or pork brain
@godfather911mafia

Mutton, organ meats in Bangalore is mostly from mutton
All food okay but Pork is yuckkkkkk.
