Been enjoying going through your past vids again in the run-up to the end of lockdown/start of spring as I'm hoping to finally start on the path to my bike licence (figured it was about time at 52!) And I've already decided that I fancy a TRK 502X once I'm there. Obviously not ridden one yet (as untrained and not licenced) but Sat on one and liked how it felt under me as a larger chap of 6'2" and love the look of it. Keep the vids coming, and if I do get one I'll be looking to incorporate some of the add-ons you've suggested. 👍

Thanks for checking out the channel. If you do decide on a TRK you won't be disappointed. Good luck for the future test. 👍

Lightly heat the rubber grommets and they will pop out quite easily and again when re-installing

I think if any part of the handlebars such as the hand guards fouls the screen it would fail an MOT. If the main bolts on the frame are long enough you could put 1/2 inch tap washers between the grommets and the frame which may give enough clearance to prevent contact.

Hi thanks for checking out the review. The reason the handguard touched the screen was because I had the metal inserts in the wrong holes. Once I changed them to the correct position the screen fitted perfectly. As for the mot side of things, in the past I have had bikes where the handlebar touched the screen on full lock, the importance being full lock. In that situation the handlebar has traversed its full range of movement freely and unhindered and the screen has not affected the safety or steering in any way. These bikes have always passed an mot with no problems. However I think you are correct in saying if the screen prevented the handlebar reaching full lock before them hitting the screen, then yes it would be an mot failure. Ride safe 👍

I have been surprised that anyone is changing the standard screen because I have found the screen fitted to my TRK502 offers the best protection of any bike I have owned. Wonder if the screen is different on the X model?

Hi thanks for checking out the channel. I think all reviews are subjective because everyone is different including reviewers. We all have different likes and dislikes, different body sizes and shapes and even different riding kit and styles which all contribute to a personal view of a bike. The world would be a boring place if we were all the same and variety of bikes and bike accessories would be none existent. I think the screens on the 502 and the X are the same size. I think its just down to personal preference of how the screens performance is to the individual rider. I found just bimbling around country lanes and popping to the shops was OK with the standard screen but going touring, long fast road riding the wind blast and turbulence was just too bad and uncomfortable. If you try a bigger screen I guarantee you will feel the difference during long motorway rides both wind blast and weather protection. I'll have an update on the new WRS screen coming to the channel soon so I hope it will be of interest to you. Ride safe buddy. 👍

I was thinking of getting the Givi touring screen but mighty look at wrc model as well, do you find the fuel gauge reads wrong? Mind tells me I'm in reserve when in actual fact there are still 5liters left in the tank!!

Hi, to be honest I try not to run the the fuel down to reserve but when I have I found the the reserve light flashes on and off for a good while before stopping on permenently. I tend to set my trip meter on the dash and aim to fill up around the 180-190 mile mark. The bike is good for around 230 miles. I havent tested out the WRS screen yet but I plan to do so in the next day or two so I will let you know what its like before I upload the video. Ride safe.

How tall are you? I’m 178 and I was thinking of going with the Puig…

It's more to do with your upper torso measurement. When seated on the bike, from the seat to the top of my helmet is 90cm. At my height I found the Puig screen too tall as it was right in my eye line of sight. We all like different things from a screen. I do not like looking through a screen so prefer screens which have a maximum height which sits just below my eyeline. I hope this helps. Ride safe 👍

Thanks for the reply! I just got the Trk last Friday and it’s something that I already notice, if I hunch just a bit it’s a completely different ride. Then again I don’t want to look like the hunchback of notes dame going around nor do I find it pleasing… but just like you, I’d prefer not to buy a Puig to find that it might be just a little bit to tall for me. However me living in Spain obviously means we don’t have as much rain as you do, so if it’s only due to the rain that you find awkward, I might not find the same. I do have shorter legs compared to my torso… Which one do you think I would go for? Thank you for your input and for your tutorials!

@@maxpower9574 with you saying you only have to hunch down a tiny bit to get a big change in the ride I would suggest the WRS screen 😉

Hi thanks for checking out the review. I would sell the screen however I am currently at work overseas in the middle East and won't be back until some time in June, I'm not sure if you would want to wait that long. Ride safe
