Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 Shim System: Adjusting Drop and Cast

Спорт

If your shotgun is not impacting the target where it is supposed to, it probably means that it does not fit you properly. Prior to the advent of Benelli's shim system, the process of drop and cast adjustment was time consuming and expensive. Now, with the shims provided with your Benelli shotgun, fine-tuning drop and cast can be done quickly and easily with only a few tools. Proper fit will ensure that your shotgun acts as an extension of your body making shots more instinctual. This video shows the correct procedure for patterning a shotgun for point of aim and adjusting the shims on your Benelli shotgun.
For any questions on Benelli's shim system contact Benelli USA's customer service department at: 1-800-264-4962.

Informative video. I own/owned over 10 semi auto Benellis over the year’s. The latest is an M2 and an Ethos (no SBE3) all have shot perfectly for me. All but the Ethos I’ve put an aftermarket hi vis sight which could possibly lower my point of impact.

Just got my SBE3 20 guage today, watched this video before I ordered the gun, but great refresher as I am about to start patterning my gun now that I have it. My Stoeger that I upgraded from had a similar shim, but the angle wasn't right for me. Needed a little bit more drop, but with Benelli D shims being 5° more than the Stoeger, I think this will work even better for me.

I have an opinion and since you are an expert I'm asking if my opinion is wrong or correct. It is my opinion that a quality shotgun should shoot a near 50-50 pattern when shot from a rest looking right down the rib with the bead just under the point of aim. After this accuracy is established, then the gun can be fitted to the individual giving the desired pattern position. Am I right or wrong?

I do love my SBE3 but its more of a "im not getting rid of it because I already have a 1 and 2 in the family coming my way eventually." Mine with a c shim is still shooting like 95/05 with a hi viz comp sight. I love the ergonomics and I kill ducks with it (aiming about a foot below them) but wish it patterned more like an 870 or any other pump shotgun or my Brownings....find myself grabbing the old A5 to hunt these days. Buddies have the newer Franchis that shoot great out the box, and I've been considering getting just to have a similar feel to the way the sbe3 feels and not have to retrain myself every time I hunt with a different gun.

@@Zach-td5mb I have a new one and an 85 Japanese mag 12. I never notice recoil much to be honest with shotguns other than between gauges, especially hunting when ducks are flying. I notice it with rifles though. The old Mag 12 I guess kicks a little bit but it has a 32" barrel so it's a little more backwards than upward recoil, if that makes sense. The new model a5 and sbe3 I dont notice any real difference between the two but they kick upward. I do notice the chevrons on the 20 ga. m2 though, you can feel them sort of bend in and recoil backwards moreso than up, but my 12 sbe3 doesn't really do that, which is weird because it has the same chevrons and comfortech or whatever they are calling it.

I am a massive Benelli fan. I own a super 90, an SBE II, and a Super Nova. The stock is the only thing I would change if I could. Just make a straight stock. No cast, no drop. Just leave it neutral. 99% of people are not going to care or try to adjust the stock. Just make it neutral like the old super 90 stocks. I would honestly pay more for a regular stock than something that has gel, and chevrons, and cast on or off. It’s shotgun. Most people at least in the US treat shotguns like they treat a hammer or screw driver. Not like a Holland and Holland or a Parker. Make it reliable. Make it as impervious as you can to corrosion. And leave it alone. The sportsman version of the SBE2 (or whatever the non comfort tech was) was the best shotgun the company ever made. I’ve replaced all the comfort tech stocks I have with standard stocks and drilled the plate neutral. They can get a non CT M2 in Europe, but I can’t get one in the US. Why? For the love of god go back to Simply Perfect. In a world of kick off, comfort tech, rubber and gel inserts, we will pay for just a regular no gimmicks drop dead reliable shotgun. Benelli’s don’t need gimmicks to sell and anyone at the company who thinks that is straight up wrong. Digital marketing team - email this comment to the VP. Please. #makebenelligreatagain

I have the c-shim in, sent it to benelli twice and still shoots 100% high. They even sent their paper target with a Kent waterfowl shot load with the pellets hitting 100% high on the target bulls eye saying its within spec. I had to send it to rob roberts to try and fix it.
