I would have no issues buying Benelli as my TnT was bulletproof. A great value for the money.

agreed! I had a tnt 300 when I lived in Thailand, that thing took me all over and sounded like a 4 cylinder!

Combo of a Monster and Scrambler is certainly the best way to describe it! ✌️

I've bought one in the UK, haven't done many miles yet as the weather has been rubbish, but so far loving it.

I’m a POM living in Cyprus and one of the few new bikes I can get her3 is the Benelli, I owned a Tornado in the uk so am used to the Benelli but not necessarily in the Chianese format. This Video has helped immensely in my decision making on my next bike. Cheers ⭐️

just bought the bike love the sound ,very stylish typical Italians , great handling plenty of grunt does what I needed to do comfy ,fuel wise I got 230km from the fuel tank at red light with 2lts to spare not bad for commuter. it gets plenty off looks . Great cafe racer

Spot on review mate. Having ridden the Trail, I can’t deny that I’ve fallen a bit in love. Dammit!😂

Depreciation and heavy [220 kg wet, not dry] compared to the competition. And you need to rev it. I prefer the 'Trail' version. 360-degree crank, isn't it? Nice bike, and it will be very reliable. Benellis all are.

I bought the 800trail version in NZ, love it easy to ride, suit a tall person, grabby clutch that's the only annoying thing.

Great review Rob, the Leoncino certainly is a surprise packet

The 754cc engine in this bike, the 752s and the TRK 800 (yet to be released here) is a 2/3 chop of the Italian designed and built 1130cc triple from earlier TNT. It's Benelli Italy designed, not a 'Chinese' engine. It is or at least was manufactured in China, for the 752s anyway, but an Italian engine. The engine in the TRK 700 which may make it into some other future Benelli models unfortunately is a Chinese engine out of the current CF Moto..as QJ owns both.

And the cfmoto 700 motor is actually a Japanese motor, it's a copy of the Kawasaki 650 twin! So therefore neither bike has a Chinese engine. I know you posted this months ago but I thought I'd reply.

@chrispekel5709 No worries, fair enough, I may be 'splitting hairs' however it is 'derived' from the Kawasaki 650cc design but not the same engine, the 693cc CF Moto 'version' and all its changes was engineered and developed by the Chinese. However I take your point about the 702's 'kwaka origins.' 👍

Kinda odd that they would put wide bars on a bike that would typically include a lot of urban riding where lane filtering would be required?

Not really Rog, it has really hefty forks and a beefy front end so the wide bars really work

The motor in my BMW F900 is also made in China and that's (touch wood) been bulletproof.

I can't find any info about where the Leoncino's in the Asian market are assembled. I thought that maybe on the European and US side it was assembled in Italy. But this is an Aussie video. Geographically closer to Asia. Anyway It's a non-issue. Just a curiosity. I own a Leoncino 500 myself as my first bike. Really enjoy it. Sadly the 800 is not offered in my country. WHY??

They make the frames and engines in China, and probably do some last assembly in Italy to say it's 'italian made'. Don't trust anything they say - these are Chinese bikes. That doesn't bother me in the sligthest because I am not biased against China and know how good their manufacturing is (people who think it's crap are ignorant as hell), but these are Chinese bikes - as is yours. Just like a Ninja 400 is really a thai bike

Love the video and as I am very keen on these bikes. I couldn’t agree more that it has style similarities with the Ducati monster and scrambler. As the scrambler is one of the other bikes I am looking at I would love to hear your thoughts or see a comparison video between these two bikes. The Benelli is edging it at the moment on looks and budget but how are they on road manners?

Is there no alternative handlebar available for the leoncino?

Competition... Ducati? Maybe, but I reckon there would be a dozen closer competitors: CFMoto, Honda, Yamaha, Triumph, to mention a few...

I've seen a few of these used, and after a year or two of aging the pipes go brown near the motor and it looks a bit off - or like rust, when it's just pipe discolouration... not sure those black pipes are a good thing for this bike, probably would've been better if they went a steel pipe to the exhaust and they go patina instead but left the rest of the bike motor/frame black as they have done...

Hey ok I bought one of these in the UK - the Trail version but basically the same bike as the one reviewed here. A few observations after six months. The fuel economy is not great - my Honda CB500X which I had before this offerd a 40% longer range which I know is down to engine size but therefore this is not a cruiser - you're stopping every 147 miles. The front break if very grabby, as this review mentions, but I've not yet got used to it nearly tipping me off the bike at low speeds. Other negs are its lack of storage - you can't really fit pannier bars on this bike and pillion passengers need to be slim! But if you want a Ducatti scrambler-style bike for half the price of the Italian equivalent, then it's ideal.
