I have a 1988 311R. Savage Stevens not knowing there was no rib at all when I ordered it. I wish I would've Ordered. the standard 311 and cut it. Anyway. Being a scatter gun the gun was. Worthless. I was able to take it to a good gunsmith and have choke. tubes Installed in the barrels. now it's a sweetheart. I since then found a 20 gauge 311 and did the same thing with it If I'm seeing right yours looks like a solid rib. Thanks for the show and tell.

Yes! I posted a video called ready fire aim. It kicks like a mule. I put like 6 rounds through it and my shoulder felt like I did a round of sporting clays lol thanks for watching

Thought 18.5 was the length limit

The limit is 18 inches but most manufacturers will leave themselves room for error and they typically go 18.5 inches. When your pumping these things off of an assembly line there can be slight variations and if you're making them exactly 18 inches you could come up short now and again which could lead to big problems with the ATF. When you're doing a one off project it's a lot easier to ensure that you stay within the legal parameters. Thanks for asking and thanks for watching.

Hey thanks for watching. The disassembly wasn't too difficult, it's the reassembly thats a pain in the butt. As long as you can remember the order you took the parts off in you should be ok. Hopefully my videos can help. I had a tough time finding anything useful online. A Google search did lead me to a schematic and a blown up view of the parts so that helped some.

The video is fantastic. Nothing else out there for the fox model b. I have the same piece and want to do these exact upgrades. How has the durablue held up so far? how about the rattle can on the triggers? Thanks again!

@@marcedery8387 the Duracoat held up great, the paint on the triggers rubbed right off unfortunately. If you go to my home page and look up my playlists, there is a bunch of videos the fox model b project. You can see project from start to finish.

Two questions...First can you tell if the barrels were originally silver solder or lead solder? Second...did you blast the barrels prior to applying the durablue? Thanks again for creating such a detailed and quality video...much appreciated!

@@marcedery8387 unfortunately I do not know what the original solder was. I wish i had a blaster. I removed the original finish the old fashioned way, some scotch brite pads and some fine grit sand paper for the stubborn areas. Worked just fine to take off the original finish. Just be careful not to gouge the metal with the sand paper or youre gonna have to use some durafill. Good luck with your project. I would love to see how it turns out.
