Hace 20 años que esperaba encontrar la número 7 (Nancy). Por fin encontré esta bellísima melodía. La tenacidad y dulzura de ese tenor me causa mucha nostalgia. Webster es mi saxofonista favorito.

Ben Webster usłyszałem o Nim historię i obejrzałem film biograficzny w Warszawie na Akademi muzycznej w ramach festiwalu Jazz Jamboree około 87/88 roku i Byłem olśniony jego grą artykulacją i przede wszystkim brzmieniem jego śpiewnym i nadzwyczaj ciepłym niepowtarzalnym brzmieniem z tym swoim kojącym wibratem.... Myślę że jest zamałoznanym na świecie muzykiem genialnym saksofonistą jak się wydaje i zbyt mało docenionym. Gorąco polecam na te deszczowe i chłodne dni pośmiertna składanka. Pozdrawiam wszystkich fanów from Poland

We have enjoyed a superb fragment of eternal beauty and peace in our minds and hearts. Ben was a turmoil, a problem, barely contained in one turbulent great artist.

@@kenmorley2339 Greetings, Ken. I did not but knew many who told me of him. I was captivated as a youth by hearing the Voice of America, on short wave radio, with Willis Conover introducing Ben and Art Tatum playing "My one and only love." and so, remained a devotee, became a tenor player, follow some impulses and have often won comment for Webster- like playing, though I never copy.

Ben's sound is like the caress of a lover.

Fair mix of London recordings in 1967 and Copenhagen recordings from 1965. Nice - happy go lucky- foot loose and toe-tapping mainstream Jazz. Right up Ben’s ally with his easy, breathy swingin’ tenor solo’s. This is the stuff you play at an lazy p, relaxing sunday-afternoon BBQ party. Go and Dig, Enjoy & Cheers!

The album title itself is already gold !

If you enjoy the breathy ballads of Ben Webster, don’t miss My Romance (Rodgers & Hart, 1935). It’s close to the end and pretty special.
