I think it would have worked had the owners gone old world. But they got a nice house in a more modern style.

I hate the fireplace. Everything else is fab!

Ben, why were the ceiling beam molding boards not mitered together with 45° corners? I think that would have elevated their look to appear as Solid Beams, rather than doing the simply assembly of just butting up the side & bottom wood boards together, even with just the clear coating treatment that was applied (which does look very nice by the way Erin -nice touch with just the clear coating!). I know they wanted a modern fireplace, but what they have is a corner wall with a fireplace insert stuck into it. -Sorry, just my opinion. (Having said this, Ben & Erin, please know I truly think you guys do amazing work, and are very creative & talented.)

That method of building a faux beam is very "modern farmhouse" style, which this couple seems to gravitate toward. So it was a stylistic choice.

I hate a lot of the fakery involved with these makeover shows. Faux beams and imitation Shaker cabinets are on a long list of things I wouldn't want done to my home.

The fireplace itself I love, but I'm not feeling the fireplace surround. It just looks unfinished, but this is "modern farmhouse," which isn't my favorite style.

That arch would have looked 1000 x better. If they just painted the brick white it would have made the house.

I have been trying to figure out what shades they use in almost every home, they are matchstick, but who makes them?

😊 The owners look kind of too small for the house . It feels buid more for someone Ben size 😅

I see a lot of you making I don't like this I don't like that about the house will it's not your house and it appears that the new homeowners love it I don't see anything wrong with it personally, I love the work that they do on their homes very talented couple and I know it's not to everybody's liking but the owners love it so that's what really matters 🙃🤷‍♀️👍👍🔥

While the rooms look very nice, do they really have company walking into the dining room, through the kitchen, to get to the living room????

1 question why do you leave so much space between the floor and the outside door cold and heat and vermin just get through underneath, that's why we have sills and the door closes everything

They didn't leave a gap. There's a dark door sweep attached to the bottom of the door.
