Imagine having a parent whose soul is so intrinsically connected to your own through music, genetics, and love. I'm blessed enough to have that with my father.

Loved seeing Charles again. When I left working at the store, Charles sold me some of the broken fixer upper instruments in the back room. One of them was an early entry level Gibson. With a plastic bridge. I built a Rosewood bridge and put on some Shaller tuners. It is my favorite guitar to play. Thanks for the memories.

This documentary is a very sweet loving history of your family. Now I see where and why you have such a talent and passion for music. Your Mama is beautiful in many ways.

Let me start by saying I adore this man and his music. 20 years ago I was totally a big ben groupie, flying all over the US to see his shows and just be in his presence. I used to paint handmade t-shirts and give them to him at his shows in New York, Philly, and Chicago. (I hope you remember this, Ben) His music means so much to me. I have written lesson plans for his music. Shared the beauty of his work with my students. I truly loved watching this and seeing/hearing him sing with his mother. I now have even more reasons to adore him. He knows what's important in life....Family. Even more than music. But music is pretty damn important, too. For Mr. Harper, music and family are intertwined. Thanks for making this and sharing this.

I've known his music for 20 years, he's been a huge part of 15 yo me wanting to start playing an instrument 18 years ago, but I'm still discovering the man today, as a father willing to give my musical legacy to my daughter. What an amazing family story, thank you for 20 and counting years of inspiration!

Love this - played the store open stage and met your Mom years ago. Was very taken with the place and space - we were in laguna beach for a couple of months on business - at one point after like my third visit to the store your Mom asked "what do you want?" - I didn't have an answer for her. How could I say as a poet and songwriter the "space" full of things that have created so much music in the hearts and hands of thousands attracted me - it was the shared energy of the space and things in that place. Watching this video I was inspired to answer her question today. Love that you've shared songs - I've done the same with my niece and there is something special about family making music - a house is a home - for sure always - even when we can't live together - family is always connected so deeply by love and that kind of love never fades. How wonderful ! Mother and son playing music together is such a special way of bonding...such a great sound! My son Sean introduced me to your duet, "Memories of Gold"....which we plan to play and sing at our next Family Practice" meeting this Thursday evening. Sean sings and plays guitar, I sing and play the piano, my daughter, Amy signs and plays hand percussion and my granddaughter sings and plays guitar, as well.
