Ben Clymer, Hodinkee - The Viva Bastardo Show - 002

Greetings, fellow Bastardo! This week on The Viva Bastardo Show we have Ben Clymer, CEO and Founder of the watch website, Hodinkee.
Phil and Ben cover a variety of topics, including how Hodinkee came to be, some of the incredible cars that Ben has had the pleasure of collecting over the years (Ferrari 330 GTC, BMW M1, Alfa Rome SZ and more) and even, shockingly, golf!
The Viva Bastardo Show is part of the Hagerty Podcast Network.
About the Podcast:
The Viva Bastardo Show is a celebration of all things, “Bastardo!” (meaning an embodiment of the contrarian spirit, the person who sees the normal and proudly declares “this is not for me!”).
Hosted by Phil Toledano (a former ad agency guy, a self-proclaimed contrarian, a conceptual artist, an entrepreneur and an enthusiastic collector of interesting cars and exceedingly interesting watches), he may be more familiar to the audience through his Instagram username of @MisterEnthusiast.
With a passion for oddball 1970s Patek watches, as well as box flares with four wheels, Phil is the type of enthusiastic collector who focuses on both the overall experience, as well as the aesthetics, and he’s the collector friend we all need in our lives.
The Viva Bastardo show will feature a variety of interesting guests form the worlds of automotive, watches, sports, entertainment and of course, Bastardo!

This is exactly what Hodinkee should revert to. Personalized and real life experiences. Very genuine and heartfelt.

This channel will be slow grower and all the better for it. Great conversation about good taste and how to enjoy it.

I rarely watch a whole episode of anything more than ten minutes on KZread, but this one was a breeze. Yeah, I know you guys personally (at least via introduction), but fermee, it was like being in a chat with friends about the stuff I like the most: watches, cars, and golf. Thanks Phil and Ben.

Love the show and great conversations! If I could make one suggest (and it's a technical thing)... when editing the video shift it 3-5 frames vs the audio. The audio and video is just slightly out of sync, typically caused by the cameras running in via HDMI and HDMI taking an extra couple frames to get to the source vs audio. You can adjust it in editing, or run the audio into the camera then into the recorder (thus slowing both down by a few frames). Anyways, just my two cents. Keep up the good work!
