BEN CARTWRIGHT
Ben Cartwright was married three times with each marriage producing a son. Ben Cartwright was the patriarch of the Ponderosa Ranch and father to Adam, Hoss and Little Joe. Ben was portrayed by actor Lorne Greene and it would be hard to imagine anyone other than Lorne portraying him. For Bonanza fans, Lorne Green was, and will always be, Ben Cartwright.

When ever Mr. Cartwright would yell I all the sudden was able to fly like a bird. Even when I knew it was coming

That’s so true lmao. I practically shoot in the air it startles me so much
Ben was also a good father figure for young uns passing through the Ponderosa (and there were many),even going to the extent of adopting orphaned Jamie Hunter in season 13 Lorne Greene's off screen persona was apparently not much different from the character he played as both Michael Landon (Little Joe) and Mitch Vogel (Jamie) often referred to him as the father they never had.

This is a great compliation of Ben's standards to his boys and everyone else. Nothing more to be said. Thanks for this!!!
I like the part when Ben says, "That oldest boy of mine, Adam, oh, he's real calm in an emergency." And then Adam punches a guy in a fight and shoots another guy's beer.

That is one of the cool things about these actors. I think they really enjoyed what they were doing. Well, everyone except Pernell Roberts.
You did a great job on this, I really enjoyed it!
Thanks for the comments Westernran. I believe the episode that 2'07 is from is Feet of Clay, where Hoss befriends a little boy named Billy, whose outlaw father he is forced to kill.

♥♥♥...and my "Hottie"!! :)))
Which episode is the clips with Ben riding wrapped in blanket talking about his sons from? would be interested to watch it.
what episode is the clip at 2:58 from?
Man, Raindrop4419, that is a tough one. I actually got that clip from the "Back to Bonanza" special shown back in 1993 I believe. So I don't actually know which episode it came from. But I like challenges, so maybe I can help dig it up just for the heck of it, or maybe someone else can come up with it. Otherwise I hope you ejoyed the video.
Not sure which clip you mean.
Love the clip at 4:00..about what episode was that?
the one where ben says it isn't always easy for a father to understand, ask my boys i'm sure they found me rather difficult at times. what episode is that clip from?
